The Oilers have taken a very strong position on character within the organization.

They won't even sniff Sean Avery.

I agree, but I hope all the rumours about Barker are false (off ice party stuff).

Didn't Laraque say that 7 ranger players including captain did not want to have Avery on the team.

Sorry if this has been answered, but does Brule have to clear reentry waivers if we call him up?

If Avery got claimed by the oil, first thing to happen is to settle the smid Avery issue. They will fight in practice to put it all behind... Oh yea but then smid will separate his shoulder

Are we still talking Oilers here, the same team that chased and grovelled at the feet of a player convicted of vehicular homicide, the same team whose No.1 goaltender was convicted and served jailtime for extreme DUI? Who are we trying to kid here?

Avery has pretty unrepairable history with the Oilers.

Sucker punch to Smid, and issuing racial slurs at Georges Laraque.

Not to mention that 'Sloppy Seconds' bit was initially aimed at Dion Pfaneuf, but also then-Oiler Jarret Stoll.

On top of there being absolutely no space on our roster for him, there's really no way management can even think of him as an option.

And yet those two are still held in much higher regard when it comes to character than Avery is.

That should say something.

Oh it's a fact, so i shall re-word myself...

Stay tactful QB...stay tactful.

Kind of like your comments about Fedun...real tactful.

You need look no further than the salary cap going up 2 million a year, so the game is growing, even you can't dispute that. Bleeding heart types, sheesh. Players get injured all the time, get over it. Hockey fans don't want a kinder gentler game, at 250.00 a ticket, i want to be able to say it must really suck to be that guy right now. If it's compassion you seek, work in a hospital.
Actually stay classy proves the point just fine....

Sean Avery is an effective hockey player (when he wants to be) and the Rangers still waived him... that tells you all you need to know.

There are over 12000 icing calls per season in the NHL. One kid gets a boo boo and you're all up in arms about it. Who cares, these guys have the best of medical attention at their beckon call. He'll be well taken care of, believe me. The kid is where he is because he left himself exposed to something like this happening, you never see a 10 yr veteran put himself in a spot like this. One boo boo in over 12000 icing calls......icing calls in the NHL are just fine the way it is.

You actually believe that it was Fedun's fault?? You sir, have completely left no doubt whatsoever of what your credibility is on this forum and life in general (that would be actually less than zero ).

He was going for the puck and Nystrom put his stick in his skates when heading for the boards. How in any variant universe, alternate reality, or multidimensional probability does that make that Fedun's fault for getting injured? I suppose Nystrom apologized so profusely by saying "i'm sorry but this was your fault"??

Jeebus, how do you even tie your shoes in the morning?

Why could I see the Canucks claiming him?

I was sort of hoping some team would claim Avery just so he would get his butt kicked.
