The way Hornby worded it, he's referring to a player. Unless he means there will be more than one round of cuts tomorrow.

Maple Leafs penalty kill looked awful tonight, gee what a shock that is. I dont have a good feeling about this upcoming season at all if the special teams are going to continue to do what they've always done under Wilson which is suck.

Just to give you a head's up, in the games where points count in standings, Sabres are on 3 game losing streak against Leafs. Not sure what you mean here. Can you be a bit more specific?

How can Kadri and Frattin be battling for the same spot, they are nothing alike, don't play anything alike and would fill two different requirements.

RW just said he thinks Lombardi might be ready to start the season.

Lombardi-Bozak-Armstrong

RW said Lombardi is flying in practice and can play wing.

the 2 games I saw against the Sabres, they controlled the puck better, and had better quality chances that they could of capitalized.

I mentioned this in the Sabres GDT, but did Kadri run over Healy's dog or something? Every little thing was nitpicked to freaking death, followed by gushing over Frattin or Gardiner. Eeesh.

they took more shots, but not much I could say were high quality ones. Buffalo transition game and ability to hold the puck creates too many problems for us.

Healey is always going off on the Leafs. He applied for their GM job a few years ago and has been anti-Leafs since.

He's a punk hiding behind his analyst role.

Seriously, you didn't see the opportunities that Kessel had? Kessel could have had a hat trick last night.

Kessel's had those kind of chances many times, but he doesn't seem to capitalize on his chances much like he used to in the past.

I know it's pre-season and I don't care about the scores at all but our special teams better not be like how they were tonight. They've been horrendous the past couple of years and if it still continues... I think you guys where I'm heading.

But it's still pre-season and there are guys with little to no experience so it's hard to get proper structure.

Marlies one is probably a bit off but you get the idea. I really can't think of any reason at all to send Gardiner down.

Last night was a reversal of tonight... Leafs fielded basically a full NHL team against half n half for Sabres.

Exactly how I see it. Would rather see Kadri play in the AHL a bit more to learn to make smarter plays, and Lombardi should be able to produce the same amount of offence as Kadri would but with better 2 way play, and also adds another PKer.

Is anyone else concerned with how scrambley Gustavsson looks? Especially side to side. As soon as the puck goes across, he looks like he's totally over-shooting going post to post.
