I dont think LA would want Poti. He really doesnt fit into our system; as far as offensive defensemen, we already have Visnovsky and Dempsey, as well as Zizka in the minors....

A good number of offensive defensemen are unjustifiably vilified for their defensive play... but in Poti's case, the criticism he faces is typically warranted. He really is that bad in his own end, and given the salary he takes home, he is just not going to be traded. This is a prototypical example of a player who could go unqualified early and become a young UFA at some point in future, given the new economic climate, because he is not worth his present salary, much less any future raises.

Not to mention Corvo, although I use the term defenseman loosely with him.

Although I am all for trading away Miller and his remaining contract. Any chance a Miller for a package involving Jake Taylor be made?

This has nothing to do with value, but since the NYR are rebuilding, trading youth and picks isn't really an option at this point. Any deal for Miller would have to involve roster players.

no thanks from a kings POV...with the offensive lineup the kings have, defense is the key to their success next year and i would take miller over poti any day...

If wolfpack can put Ken Gernander on defense. Then if we resign Messier, id take him on defense over Poti. If I was the coaching staff, id try to move Poti to LW. He has good skill. I bet if he was a forward, he get 50 points or so. To bad he is a defenseman.

Well Messier plays tougher than Poti.

But seriously why not try Poti at LW. With his skill, I can see him produce. If Pock can change from forward to D in collage, then I think Poti can change from D to LW in the pros.
