Let's hope that Giroux, Brière and Jagr will continue playing like this. They were pretty awesome tonight. Matt Read should lock up a roster spot with his play as well, unless they're really, really worried that he will fizzle out over the season. Even so, we've got our hands on a really nice player here.
I wasn't terribly impressed by Lundqvist or Bryzgalov in that game.
Read was impressive, and shows oh-so-much potential. I remain unconvinced that he can keep it up for 82 games, but this guy looks like he should be a good player for us once he learns what the grind is like.
Voracek...meh.
Simmonds...woo!!
Jagr/Giroux is going to be a great pair
Walker...go away
Rinaldo...undecided.
Sestito...idiot
Timonen...looks to be back to his old self

I never said he wouldn't make the team. In the other thread you just decided to take a post I made back in July and act like I made it in current context
It is to bad Walker is making to much money. The guy played a very solid game. Gus is just to small for me. I would like to see him in the AHL for a little more seasoning.
Solid game. Sounds like Read is gonna make the team (at least according to Clement and Jonesy). Third line with Schenn and Simmonds?

I'd be cool with that. I'd rather have someone else besides Shelley as the 13th forward, but I'll wait until he is officially waived before I take him out of any lineups I kick around.
If Shelley got 10, Sestito will probably get 10 or more. You can see him speed up just for that hit.
Yeah it's a shame. Definitely gonna get the suspension. A few years ago that's the type of hit/aggressiveness that coaches were looking for from guys trying to make the team. Now he probably won't make it because of that.
Less than a week after Wayne Simmonds experienced a terribly offensive action, he took the liberty of using one of his own. During tonight’s exhibition game between the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers the right wing was caught on tape saying a derogatory term against someone he deemed unlike himself.
While Sean Avery may or may not be what Simmonds is referring to, the action was made and it was irresponsible. If Ryan Lambert of Puck Daddy (via Twitter) can read between the lines, so can viewers, fans in attendance and now the entire hockey world. See for yourself if you can:
If Shelley got 10, Sestito will probably get 10 or more. You can see him speed up just for that hit.
Sestito's hit is dirtier, but I think Shelley got a few extra games as a repeat offender. I don't know if Sestito's been in trouble with the law before, so to speak.
Still, such an idiotic and completely unnecessary play. Maybe Rinaldo will end up on the roster due to a bunch of other people having suspensions, wouldn't that be something? Two more games to play before that though, what was the longest period he had between suspensions last year anyway?
None. Some people think he will burn out but I do not see it.
The whole burn out argument is pretty specious.....everybody hits a wall of sorts during the season. I'd love to see the team cut him on the reasoning "he is going to burn out..eventually."
Very disappointed in tom Sestito was really pulling for him to make the team and take Shelley out now with that stupid hit from behind he may have lost his change to make the team.........
So where are all the "Read only played a few AHL games and you idiots are already penciling him in for no reason" haters. They were plentyful a month ago and seem to have disappeared.
