This one year, going off a list of names. There are probably loads more.

Edit: Matt Lashoff last year
First off, Kennedy was a signing made after he was already waived by the Sabres, Mitchell was not a UFA signing, he was already a member of the Toronto org. And lastly, Lashoff was an RFA, who was a member of the leafs from a trade.

Ha I know he's probably not. Just annoyed with people who say ''he signed three months ago, he staying''. Just saying it's possible and has happened before. It's what I would do if Z and da Costa are ready for the NHL.

Kennedy was still a UFA signing. Lashoff I feel is still comparable. And I added Tollefsen - what's wrong with him? Again, there are probably a lot more.

Tollefsen? He was signed by the Flyers, never played a game in the AHL with their farm team, then was traded to the Wings. He was then sent to the AHL by the wings, who hadn't signed him.

Reasonable depth chart of the Senators going into season:

I think this is relatively accurate of where the players are at in terms of where they are rated by the team. Some players will get sent down even though they are higher than others on depth chart due to contracts and development.

I rated Filatov, Zibanejad and Da Costa high because they have been shown to be difference makers. The team has few of those. That is why I think all three make the team out of camp and have significant roles because they are just showing they are better than the players below them. Filatov and Zibanejad are looking especially good. I kind of see them as more solid than Da Costa. Da Costa has looked good in camp so far but he could not be ready. Filatov and Zibby are ready to be difference making top 6 forwards now. Butler could be in AHL or on top line. I rated him lower because he is so unproven, and can't play on a checking line. Zibby, Filatov, Regin could play with checkers I think.. not Da Costa or Butler. Foligno could breakthrough and move up. Wouldn't be surprised to see Maclean use Neil more than he has been used in recent seasons. The bottom guys are fighting to be in the bottom 6. And all are good for that and qualified for it. If we are totally healthy ever it will make for several tough decisions. Greening and Condra could be able to produce offence in the NHL or maybe they are just grinders... too early to tell. Healthy Spezza makes anyone and everyone look to be good offensively if they are on his line. Regin is solid defensively.... he can play on any line and in any forward position. He could be a solid top 6 guy or be pushed down to the bottom 6, again his success 2 years ago offensively could just be Alfie and Spezza. Konopka and Winchester are solid 4th liners... and good on the draw. Neither are going to move up to the 3rd line even. But could be extremely good on the 4th line and PK. Smith is solid.... He is going to play either the 3rd or 4th line depending on his offensive skills and his ability not to take stupid penalties

1) Spezza
2) Alfredsson
3) Michalek
4) Filatov
5) Zibanejad
6) Da Costa
7) Foligno
8) Regin
9) Neil
10) Greening
11) Butler
12) Smith
13) Konopka
14) Condra
15) Winchester

Karlsson is King! Gonchar is a vet with a lot to prove. Cowen is going to push for top 2 Even Strength minutes. Phillips is a solid vet. Lee proved he could be a defensive d-man. Still has to prove that he is good enough each game as a healthy motivated Kuba and Rundblad or even Carkner could push him. Rundblad is in the top 6 as soon as he gets used to North American rinks.. maybe with a month or two in AHL. Kuba is going to get a chance to prove himself. He is in the top 6 to start the season... if he sucks like last year he will eventually become a healthy scratch. Carkner will play when Konopka or Cowen are out of the lineup and if there are D injuries aside from Cowen.

1) Karlsson
2) Gonchar
3) Cowen
4) Phillips
5) Lee
6) Kuba
7) Rundblad
8) Carkner

Unless Auld is on fire .... Lehner is getting called up from the AHL to start if Anderson goes down. Hence why he is 2nd on depth chart but in AHL.

1) Anderson
2) Lehner
3) Auld

I'd like to see this line-up to start the season:

Greening - Spezza - Butler
Filatov - Zibanejad - Alfredsson
Foligno - Da Costa - Michalek
Condra - Smith - Neil

Phillips - Lee
Cowen - Karlsson
Rundblad - Gonchar

Anderson
Auld

More or less, yes. I would make a few very minor, insignificant changes (I think Butler and Greening should be a bit higher) but I agree with most things he said.

I won't bother looking up the others but Rissmiller
Quote:
On July 1, 2008, he signed as a free agent to a 3 year, $3 million contract with the New York Rangers. Rissmiller started the 2008–09 season with the Rangers and was injured in his Rangers debut, a 4-3 victory against the Philadelphia Flyers on October 11, 2008. Failing to secure a place upon his recovery, Rissmiller played in only 2 games with New York before he was assigned on a conditioning assignment to AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack on November 12, 2008. After completing his assignment and without a role on the Rangers, he was then returned to the Wolf Pack for the duration of the season on December 2, 2008.
If you're gonna bother looking up for exemple...at least get good exemples...

Greening - Spezza - Butler
Michalek - DaCosta - Neil
Filatov - Zibanejad - Alfie
Foligno - Konopka - Smith/Condra
-
Cowen - Gonchar
Phillips - Lee
Kuba - Karlsson

Three "Balanced" lines with an energy line, think it could work out

Put Regin/Condra/Winchester wherever you'd like, this is what I thought would work best together.

Don't feel shameful. Think of this list the way I do... mine is more of a organizational ice time & games played chart (assuming perfect health). I'm not ready to put any stock whatsoever in training camp. Training camp is where Foligno & Filatov combined for 8 games in 10 games or something last fall (and then 8 goals combined through 2/3's of the season). Preseason means almost nothing. I ranked players based on how much I believe that they can earn the trust of coaching staff to be given ice time.

1 - Spezza
2 - Alfredsson
3 - Michalek
4 - Regin
5 - Foligno
6 - Butler
7 - Smith
8 - Filatov
9 - Neil
10 - Greening
11 - Konopka
12 - Condra
13 - Winchester

14 - Zibanejad
15 - Da Costa

Defence:
1 - Karlsson
2 - Gonchar
3 - Phillips
4 - Kuba
5 - Cowen
6 - Lee
7 - Rundblad
8 - Carkner

Didn't do the goalies... because Bryan Murray already gave that one away.
