Overall I think your team looks decent. Although you seem to be very thin at RB. Priest will have to carry a big load for your team and PRAY he doesn't go down with inj. I'm not sure if you can trade in your league, or if WR points are of better value, but I would see if I could get another decent RB for a WR(where I think you have solid depth).
Good luck this year, and GO PACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Youth be served? Six first or second year players?
QB:
Brooks
Leftwich
Maddox
Brooks is a good FF QB. Leftwich and Maddox are so-so as back-ups. Leftwich is going to have some growing pains, but has great upside. Maddox is in a lame duck situation, just waiting for the time Rothlisberger replaces him. That said, he should have some big games if the Steeler's line can perform (BIG IF).
WR:
Holt
Owens
Lelie
Charles Rogers
Roy Williams
Randel El
Like Holt and Owens, great top duo. Big-time risks after that. Taking both Williams and Rogers is a huge risk. Detroit is not sure to perform and both are still learning the ropes. Taking 3rd WRs is always chancy, usually stick to the good offensive, so Randel El is a bit marginal to me. Like Lelie, figure he is a solid 3rd WR this year.
RB:
Priest Holmes
Kevin Jones
Greg Jones
Willis McGahee
Bye weeks and injuries will hurt. Loading up with your third Lion is dangerous, if the team stinks you are carrying three stinkers. Kevin Jones should be solid. Don't like Greg Jones this year, he is being converted to an Alstott-style FB and only getting leftovers from Jones and Toefield. At best, maybe he ends up the goalline back on a marginal offensive team. McGahee is a wild card and sounds like a head case, if he ends up starting somewhere he could be solid. If he is stuck behind Henry, he is a marginal pick at best.
TE:
Todd Heap
One of the top-3, great player.
K:
Ryan Longwell
A kicker is a kicker. Longwell is a solid one.
Won't comment on the defensive players because I have never played that style.
In all, I think it is a bit heavy on youngsters and players on bad teams (Jags, Lions, Steelers). If you are going to load on on a team, load up on a powerhouse (Rams, Seahawks, Vikes). For so-so or bad teams, spread your risk out. I don't like taking too many unproven kids, just too risky. While one or two may end up being a break-out steal, more often than not they end up not producing at a draftable level. For every one Dominic Davis, you have 5+ disappointments. Decent team, just carries a lot of risk.

I had Buckhalter but he is done now.So Wheatley is in his place. This is a yahoo winners league so competition is stiff
From that same Yahoo league, here's what I ended up with. Pretty happy overall but could definitely use some top level help in the WR department IMHO. My plan going in was that since we start 1QB, 1RB, 1TE, 1Def, and 3WR; that getting good starters at the single positions was of paramount importance and then hope that any deficiency at WR could be overcome by quantity vs quality. Any comments or thoughts are appreciated:
QB
Matt Hasselbeck
Jake Plummer
Jake Delhomme
RB
Ladanian Tomlinson
Rudi Johnson
Tiki Barber
Willis McGahee
TE

WR

in a sixteen-team (not my choice) yahoo! live draft league
QB-Peyton Manning
RB-Rudi Johnson
RB-Charlie Garner
WR-Jerry Porter
WR-Koren Robinson
TE-Dan Graham
flex-Willaim Green
B-Dominic Rhodes
B-Kelley Washington
B-Lee Evans
B-Damian Anderson*
K-Matt Stover
DEF-Dallas
explanations...
*Damian Anderson...it was the 2nd last pick, after sixteen rounds, the boards are pretty bare, I figure Emmitt won't handle a big load, Shipp is out for the year so Anderson will see some touches, maybe he'll surprise, if not I'll release him.
*William Green...I stole this guy fairly late if I recall, I think he'll start in Cleveland and do well.
*Dominic Rhodes...only pick I regret sort of, but at this time there weren't any running backs left who got a bulk of the touches, figure he's there if Edgerrin gets hurt, and if not I think he'll get more involvement than the other back I could have picked, Antowain Smith
Chris Dub:
Excellent starting squad. As long as you stay ABSOLUTELY healthy you'll challenge for the title. Big "if" though. Not alot of depth on the bench, although the Travis Henry injury could be big for you.

Don't know what people see in this kid, you would have been better off taking Jimmy Smith.
Well the kid was by far the most talented WR coming into the league since Moss. And before he got hurt almost 50% of the balls thrown by Detroit were to him and with his talent that means he'll have a ton of receptions.

Exactly why I took him. I had him last year & he was a great producer until his season was cut short. He slipped to a later round in my league this year, and I couldn't pass him up. And I took a chance & picked up Williams off waivers. If Detroit gets rollin this year, which I think they will, I'll have Harrington's #1 & #2 targets.

What round did you get him in? I wouldn't take him earlier than the 7th,but he might turn out to be a very good #2 or 3 fantasy WR this year if he can stay healthy. I draft for the 2 money leagues i'm in next week and wouldn't hesitate to take him in the 7th or after.

I got him with the last pick of the 6th. I also had the first pick of the 7th so I took 2 guys in a row. Rogers with the final pick in the 6th Round, and Brooks with the first pick in the 7th Round.
Coincedentally, Boston went right after Brooks. And Chambers later on in the round.

That's about right for Rogers and good value on Brooks at that spot.

Yeah I'm a fan of Rogers & didn't pass him up when he got to me. After the first 3 rounds, most guys had already taken the top QB's. There were a bunch of quality guys left that lasted throughout most of the draft, including Brady in the 13th round.
When I took Brooks, QB's still left were:
Leftwich (other QB pick)
Green
McNair
Garcia
Brady
B. Johnson
Bledsoe
Warner
Plummer
E. Manning
Gannon
Brunell
Carter
Carr
Harrington
Maddox (later picked up off waivers)
Looking back on it, there were some other QB's I could have taken instead of Brooks. But out of what was left, Brooks had the biggest fantasy upside IMO & would've gone soon after had I not picked him.
QB D. McNabb
WR H. Ward
WR D. Jackson
WR R. Smith
RB L. Tomlinson
RB C. Dillon
TE A. Gates
WR J. Horn
RB D. McAllister
TE K. Winslow
QB M. Bulger
WR R. Gardner
K D. Akers
with a the team Defense of Philadelphia and GB
overall, I'm pretty pleased with everything except my QBs, though the addition of TO to Philly might McNabb's numbers increase significantly. I'm thrilled with my RBs and pretty happy with receivers. TEs could be better, but are good enough.
LT,Deuce McCallister and Corey Dillon on one team?!And the rest of your team is pretty decent as well.
haha, surprisingly...12. me and one other kid made out like bandits. the rest of them have a few bright spots and apparently don't know how to use the 'exclude' feature when auto ranking
