Michael Sauer; Shoulder (9/26) -- (Spector says out for "week")

According to a Spector tweet, he will be out for roughly a week.

I will try and link it up.

Here's a copy of the tweet:

NYDNRangers Jesse Spector
#NYR cut Thuresson & Deveaux. Sauer (shoulder) out a week. Rinaldo defended play as just awkward collision.

Sucks that he's injured at all, but ****, thank god it's only a week. Could have been much worse.

Seriously, thank god it's just a week; I thought it was a broken collarbone or something of that ilk. Can't afford to lose Sauer for any length of time if the team plans on challenging for the Atlantic.

I'll believe it when I see it. Hopefully he's ready for the season opener.

Really need Staal and Sauer healthy for the start of the season.

10 days between now and Game #1 to rest up. Let's hope for the best. Worst pre-season in recent memory in regards to injuries to important players.

That hit just looked vicious, and Sauer is not the type to show pain or come out. He's in a sling....not good. They're saying 7 days....I'm going to assume that's a generous estimate. Like I said hopefully he's ready for the opener. It's going to suck though cause he won't get another pre-season game in before then. Might make for a rusty start. Staal and Sauer, even if they play on the 7th, are not going to be sharp.

Funny how that coincides with the most anticipated season in recent memory, huh?

Let's just hope these guys are all good to go for the opener. Heck, I'll be happy if they are good to go for the first NA game.

Guess we should have seen this coming down broadway in cab. Ughh this is frustrating. More frustrating than having a straight out bad team is a team that could be good but is being killed by injuries. Season hasn't started yet but this certainly isn't getting things off on the right foot.

Sather said today that he's not worried and Staal could come out to Europe Thursday or Friday...so that's...something.

Well none of them are solved and Staal's is, as far as we (or anyone) knows, is major.

And just think, Staal and Sauer's injuries aren't even from blocking shots! Just wait til the regular season starts.

Didn't he sustain a serious shoulder injury earlier in his career? Can anyone confirm if it's the same shoulder or not?

Sauer's head hit the boards. My biggest fear was a concussion because he has had definitely 1 concussion. It might be 2 concussions.

I just hope he didn't pinch the neck or compress the shoulder, nothing that is going to be nagging all season. Just rest up and let the thing go away by the start of the season.

I wouldn't worry much, hits to any other place of the head than the jaw area is basically not concussion inflicting. More like neck if anything.
