We catch them on the back side of a back to back. Benn is expected to miss this game after getting cut the other night. Unfortunately, Louie and Ribs are healthy and playing well.

I'll try to get a few pictures of Gill during the pregame skate .... probably posted to @predfans from the arena for simplicity.

The drummer from Tool was at the grocery store recently when I was there. I didn't know who he was, but some of the cashiers were freaking out.

(relevant due to the OP haha)

The Franchise stock may say Predators Holdings LLC but it's the Dallas Stars that has really owned us this year. No reason to believe it's gonna change after the heartbreaker Friday. Stars 5 Preds 1

Benn got 31 stitches and is on crutches probably out for a month atleast (although the team will never acknowledge that) im sure suter and weber will be able to handle our 1st line and then its up to the rest of your D to handle 2 3rd lines and shoddy 4th line... we're also the only team that hasn't won on the 2nd night of a back to back and i dont expect that to be changing anytime soon

D pairs from the morning skate:

Suter - Weber
Gill - Josi
Bouillon - Klein

Ellis and Hillen will be scratches today.

Despite reservations about bumping Ellis out of the lineup, I really like those pairings. They are balanced and give the Predators three solid units to roll at even-strength which will allow for more balanced minutes down the stretch and lead to less 28+ minute per night games for the top pairing leaving them fresher to do it in the second season...

ugh filthy... klein - bouillon will be **** for us.. I think we'll see how much klein benefits from josi tonight

if ellis is gonna be scratched, send him down. otherwise waive/trade hillen... scratch bouillon and play ellis. the kid has earned it by god

also gill on a 2nd pairing, I don't like.. he needs to see no more than about 15 mins a game.. with josi, I expect it to be around 20 min especially with PK.. I don't think those two are a good mix. gill's lack of speed and acceleration on a 2nd pairing scares me..

Ellis has no business being scratched. He has played better than Bulls and Klein. Not sure what his thinking is here.

Seriously?

I don't know why so many couldn't see that Ellis was likely the first to come out for Gill. The acqusition of Gill allows the team to more evenly distribute the minutes among the three pairings at ES than they have been this season.

With Gill the pairs are likely to see Suter-Weber get about 25 to 26 minutes per night and the other two pairings around 17-19 minutes each. That is a far cry from having to protect the third pairing and have the top duo playing 28-29 minutes per night, the second pairing close to or over 20 minutes per night, and the third pairing seeing about 11 minutes per night.

While he was listed on the second pairing, I think you'll more likely see Bouillon-Klein get the second pairing minutes tonight as they have played that role for much of the season, while Gill and Josi get familiar with each other and see some protected minutes early.

Klein and Cube have looked good together in the past. Hopefully they can find that chemistry.

and thats fine... send ellis down if he is going to be a scratch.. I think we will see both pairings abused tonight.. especially klein bouillon. I really liked the klein josi pairing and really felt ellis had elevated his game so ellis gill on the 3rd pair seemed best to me.. but trotz is the coach not me..

also outside of weber (who has been completely shut down by opposing teams lately), no one on our defense contributes offensively.. suter will make the breakout pass and be passive to weber. thats why I like ellis in the lineup.. he is a PMD who contributes offensively. who's the 2nd pair on PP now ? klein - josi ?
