RE: Genoway from the previous thread

If we see Spurgeon go down with an injury, is Genoway one of the first in line for a call-up? This is assuming Scandella is out of the picture for whatever reason.

Prosser or Cuma would be more likely. IMO, based on the exhibitions and seeing Penner in the AHL, I am more confident in his abilities than Genoway's at this point.

Does Cuma have anything of an offensive game? If Spurgeon goes down, we'll probably need the callup to play PP time.

Is he as offensive minded as Genoway? No. Does he have the offensive abilities that Genoway has at this point in time? No. But Genoway was a liability 5 on 5 and did nothing on the PP. If Spurgeon goes down, I think there are a few guys that would get the call before Genoway, even if it is for PP time. But that's just me...Genoway reminds me of Noreau...has some decent hands, can make a nice pass, but the NHL game is too fast and cannot win any battles.

I know you are asking about PP time but I just don't think Genoway showed anything in the few exhibition games that he can establish his offensive game yet. If he goes down and puts up the PP points in the AHL, then maybe. But right now, I think Prosser or Cuma can do as much on the PP and eat up more even strength minutes. And I was not all that impressed with those two during the exhibitions either so I am not suggesting they are NHL players...just more ready than Genoway.

If you guys want any changes to the format, just let me know. I've got my master spreadsheet all rigged up.

Also, do you want me to change the first post with updates, make a new reply, or both?

Just a thought, if it's not too much trouble group them by position first then alphabetically. I see Wellman after all of the defensemen. Otherwise great table and thanks for doing it. Much appreciated.

I don't know, just having them all alphabetically probably works better unless forwards and defensemen get their own separate chart. I definitely see what you're saying though. Wellman should either be grouped with forwards or the very last on the chart. I would say either separating into F/D/G or stop separating the goalies would look better.

Oh that's my mistake. I like the forward / defense / goalie grouping (stole it from TP).

Once the season gets going, do you want me to group them by points scored or alphabetically?

Alphabetically. Whatever makes it easiest to find a name on the list is probably best. I don't want to have to search through closely to try find "Kristopher Foucault" or whoever I'm looking for.
