The Springfield roster makes me laugh in which you posted. I know who several of those guys are. Shocked to see Chaz Johnson and especially Joe Grimaldi in an AHL Camp. Obi aduba has come a long way I guess from our pro placement camp. Yannick usually finds a way to atleast a camp. I'm shocked to see tristin Llewellyn but he's a young guy so I can se why he's getting a look

Some of these low end guys are there as warm bodies for practice until the NHL teams break camp and disperse their young guys. Happens every season.

What can you tell me about Martin Moucha? He is in WBS's camp. He played for Danbury in the FHL last season and played 5 games with Elmira. FHL guy solely or possible ECHL guy? Thanks in advance.

Would C.J. Severyn be considered an invite to the Abbotsford camp? He never signed with Calgary and was just assigned to Abbotsford, and there's been no word of him signing an AHL deal either.

Danny Taylor? Wow! Theres a name I haven't heard in awhile(assuming it's the same one)

They have finally given up on Matt Dalton? Why? I personally thought the kid was pretty good. But with Thomas in Boston I can see how he was never gunna go there but to maybe be a backup.

Gunna guess FHL. Look how long he was apparently out of hockey:

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p...php?pid=134451

Granted I think eliteprospects does all the overseas stuff so he could have been playing and hockeydb just doesn't recoognize said league(s)

The Bruins already have two bad ECHL level goalies in the system with Adam Courchaine and Michael Hutchinson. No need for Dalton too, he's in the KHL now. Danny Taylor was always pretty good in Manchester, I wouldn't mind him as our backup.

so clubs basically have a week to sort through everything before choosing who they want to keep for the season?

that seems like a very short time to get onto a roster

If Milwaukee is the average AHL team, 70% of the roster was known in July. A few guys leave for the NHL or elsewhere, a few guys move up or over from another team. The extra guys in camp are being looked at for the future. They are injury replacements, NHL call-up replacements or filling in that missing piece on the team. Which guys will fit in with or complement the others? Milwaukee has three goalies trying for the two spots. All three of them played games for the Admirals last season.

If a guy stands out in camp or pre-season, he'll likely get to hang around a couple weeks to make his case. A lot of AHL teams carry 25-30 players for the first weeks of the season. Many of these guys are just hoping to sign a minor league deal and go to the ECHL.

And very few players not under contract ever make the Ads (not sure for other teams).

In the past 4 years, only 7 players played significant time with the Ads after being in training camp with them.

Well the Sens made a lot of cuts today (fyi, drop the p in Binghamton), I'd suggest pressconnects.com and twitter.com/PSBJoyOnTheSens

Portland Here's the info. link and here - invites include Ashton Rome, Igor Gongalsky and Jimmy Bonneau, Shane Sims

Rochester: there's info. here http://blogs.democratandchronicle.com/kevino/

Bridgeport: some info. here, including some former players invited elsewhere

Norfolk: info here

Manchester hasn't opened camp yet; perhaps why there isn't as much info.

As for all the teams, at this point we now some NHL contract players have been assigned. Personally, I'm more interested in the invite list.

Portland Here's the info. link and here - invites include Ashton Rome, Igor Gongalsky and Jimmy Bonneau, Shane Sims

Rochester: there's info. here http://blogs.democratandchronicle.com/kevino/

Bridgeport: some info. here, including some former players invited elsewhere

Norfolk: info here

Manchester hasn't opened camp yet; perhaps why there isn't as much info.

As for all the teams, at this point we now some NHL contract players have been assigned. Personally, I'm more interested in the invite list.
Bonneau's w/ Worcester.... actually a 1 yr deal

ok, was just working off of recent reports and I didn't see it listed in the contracts thread, which like the Portland news, has him listed as attending Portland's camp.

I assume a recent contract?

San Antonio:

Tim Billingsley D (Niagara-OHL)
Brian O'Hanley D (Cincinnati-ECHL/Rochester-AHL/Portland-AHL)
Daniel Koger F (Laredo-CHL)
Jordan Kary F (Cornell-ECAC)

Andrew Volkening G (Air Force Academy) - Interesting story about this kid. He's an Air Force officer stationed here in San Antonio. This is the 3rd or 4th time he has been called upon to fill in on an emergency basis in the last 2 years.
