Could mean many things...

Markov could be hurt worse than originally believed.
Subban injury could be worse.
Yemelin going back to Russia.

And so it begins.

yemelin diaz an weber have all looked average so far.IF there is a longer delay to markov s return campoli will come in handy.solid player an a for a good price.as if people on here are suddenly surprised that we ve had major d man issues as far as injuries go for the last few years. we need as much depth as possible.

Probably Markov not being ready and have a left defenseman as an option for the Power Play.

Oh boy, last time I cursed out Campoli's name was that really bad giveaway that led to the gwg in Game 7 of the Nucks - Hawks game.

Hmm....

I'm hoping that Gauthier is deciding to stockpile d-men early rather than spend assets on "fixing the leaky roof" in February, but the pessimistic side of me is thinking that Markov might not be around as early as I hoped he would.

Most people here think he's played well enough to make the team (and I agree). So unless the Habs brass saw something different, I don't know.

I don't see that. He is playing well enough to stay.

Markov won't come back before a while and they don't have much confidence in Woywitka nor Weber.

Beaulieu is definitely going back to St-John before the beginning of the season.

Not a chance. He'll be our #4 Dman by the end of the year after Markov, Subban and Gorges.

I'm undecided on the actual value Campoli brings to this team, but the implication this has on Markov's health has me somewhat worried.

Nice signing. Campoli is a great bottom pairing defenseman that is still pretty young. He's actually very solid defensively and can move the puck well. He won't run your powerplay but he can provide some offense from the backend. I'm suprised he wasn't snatched up sooner.

Did they badly evaluate the Markov's injury ?

I'd rather have a guy like O'Brien or Hannan. or Hamrlik than spare parts like Woywitka and Campoli....

The injuries are already piling up. Subban + Markov being out will hurt. Sadly, this also means there will be one less spot available for a rookie.

WOW......why Gauthier pay 1.75 million for a guy who doesn't have a job 2 week before the season....give him a 2 way contract, 750 000, i'm sure campoli play for that money instead of staying at home...

He got a f**king great agent!

IMO, Campoli is a bigger threat to Weber than Yemelin. Weber hasn't shown anything spectacular in camp.
