with all the inflation of NHL contracts lately, it seems like a fair number for him. maybe, a little high though

Still seems high to me. But whatever, he's a good bottom six energy guy.

Underpayment here. I would have thought 2 years 6.5 million would have been more in the ballpark.

Seems a bit high for 26 points but he creates with his speed and strength. Good re-signing without looking too far into the contract for the Caps. He is the type of player they need to mold their lower lines around.

Pretty fair I suppose. Maybe a little lower would have been more fair but this is solid.

What isn't underpayment to you?

He's a solid energy/utility guy who is not afraid to do the dirty work. Is 1.75 a little high? Probably but he gives everything he's got and unlike some higher paid players on this team, showed up during this last playoffs.

Chimera's biggest asset is his speed. At 32 he's no spring chicken, so I'm a little concerned if he can retain his speed for 3 more seasons. Otherwise it's a fine signing, considering he also wears the A.

Good for him and the Caps.

Sort of wished he was a trade candidate to the Sharks to fill the 3rd line winger hole.

Seems perfectly fair. Average of 30 points the last 2 years, brings a lot of energy, some leadership. Good enough for a buck 75.

You mean he's not worth the 4 years/$18 million Frans Nielson is worth!

When a guy like Joel Ward can get $3.0M a season, Chimera's contract seams reasonable.

He's probably the fastest guy on the team but is notorious for his stone hands.

I see it as an over payment

Underpayment! Considering he's a glorified third liner at best, he made out pretty good for himself.
