Toronto - Tampa Bay//Toronto - Edmonton

I be bored.

Proposal #1

To Toronto

Brett Connolly
2nd/3rd round pick depending on combination of players.

To Tampa Bay

Jake Gardiner
Choice of: Rynnas/Gustavsson
Choice of: Colby Armstrong/Matt Frattin

Proposal #2

To Toronto

Ales Hemsky
2nd round pick 2012
Conditional 1st 2013 if he doesn't re-sign.

To Edmonton

Clarke MacArthur
Keith Aulie/Carl Gunnarsson
Matt Frattin
Rynnas/Gustavsson (not sure how much confidence the Oil have in Dubnyk) or a 2nd round pick.

Send a message via MSN to The Head Crusher
Edmonton would never attach the first in 2013 as a condition if Hemsky does not resign.

We have absolutely no need for MacArthur or Frattin.

I dont know how good Connolly is but I know he is good.

But the second you brought up Gardiner I stopped looking. In my opinion (Ill take the blame for this, not the rest of the Leaf fans on this site) I think he is going to have a hall of fame career AND be a captain team USA at some point.

2nd one I would say yes to if Frattin wasn't involved. (Pick/another prospect?)

Both are highly touted prospects. Connolly has the potential to be that game breaking offensive talent this team needs.

Jake Gardiner is going to have a Hall of Fame career eh? I don't even think a guy like Nugent-Hopkins or Eberle are gonna have HoF careers.

Like I said, I think he will. In a couple of years I expect people to be calling prospects Gardiner - Lite.

But yea high expectations I guess. I think hes going to be really great.

If we were to ever trade Connolly for a suck ass package like that, then I hope Brett's legs were chopped off first.

You know what's great about high expectations? Watching people not meet them. It's delicious.

4 pre-season games buddy. 4. Getting a tad ahead of ourselves calling Gardiner, the next Ray Bourque I think. You know who we can say is having a hall of fame career? Lidstrom. At this point...that's it.

You'll see. They'll even waive the waiting period for him. Just like for Stalberg.

Edmonton gives up the best player in the deal and also adds an early second. The Oilers would pay Hemsky themselves to stay in Toronto in order to keep their 1st in 2013

There's no such thing as conditional picks if the player doesn't resign, it's not the other teams fault the team can't get the player under contract.

Just thinking of the last defensemen I remember getting inducted into the hall of fame.

Thats a no from Tampa. Why trade our best prospect (which is saying alot, considering that we have a very very deep offensive pipeline.) for a package like that?
