It hasn't been handed out yet. His "indefinite suspension" is just another way of saying that no suspension will be given until Carcillo's injury status is known.
Added the Bourque suspension and the initial stuff on the Carcillo suspension, I'll update that once the NHL makes an official decision/releases a video
Barch gets one game for "insensitive remarks." According to our beat writer, he asked Subban if he slipped on a banana peel, clearly referring to how fast he went down when Gudbranson went over to him, nothing racist at all.
Outrageous. You can't say something to a guy now that's been asked for how long in reference to someone going down like that? had it been years ago and Neil going down on Dingman and he'd said something...nothing would have come of this.
Hoping he and the players union fight this.

Slipping on a banana peel is an age-old reference/act that has ZERO racial connotations. Mythbusters did a show on it. Anybody who grew up watching Looney Tunes or Tom and Jerry couldnt go one episode without them showing someone slipping on a banana peel
Quote:
The image in popular culture of an unwary pedestrian tripping head over heels on a banana peel stems from the late 19th century, when bananas were a popular street food in American cities and the press portrayed them as a public nuisance.
In 1879, Harper's Weekly groused that "whosoever throws banana skins on the sidewalk does a great unkindness to the public, and is quite likely to be responsible for a broken limb."
What a joke the NHL has become. That referee should be suspended for a game as well just for thinking it was racist and wrongfully accusing somebody of racism. Barch will now be perceived as a racist because of a soft, incompetent moron
Barch seems to indicate he said something much worse than that? Asking if he slipped on a banana peel would be a complete nonissue. I can't imagine what he could have said that was no race related and got him suspended..if that was a regular occurance Steve Ott would always be suspended.
I likely will not be adding the Barche suspension to the thread since it had nothing to do with a hockey game. Similar to the Avery 'sloppy seconds' suspension or the Wisniewski "lollipop" suspension.
Not sure if this is the place to go, but before I make any sort of thread on the main boards I was wondering if someone could get video of Josh Georges' potential knee on knee against Marcus Johansson late in the third period of tonight's game. It looked a lot more brutal and clear cut than the TSN crew made it sound, but I only got one replay of it, and I clearly don't have the video capture capabilities myself.
