Tonight is my 1st NHL game since 1995... I am so excited.

Just one more meeting to sit through and I'll be on my time.

I really like the way Chris Cuthbert calls a game. CBC's loss was definitely TSN's gain. To be honest, I prefer Cuthbert to Hughson without question. Am I alone?

Call me lame or no fun, but I hate hate HATE when people bring signs in to the games. There are people behind you that want a better view than the back of your ugly home made sign.

Unless you sit in the front row of your section and can drape it over the railing in front of you.

Which is exactly what I could do, but I doubt I'll bother with it anyway. Too much effort!

And hell no to Mason vs Aebischer being close. Aebischer is washed up, pack him up and send him home.

You are not. I'd take Cuthbert over Hughson any day.

Well you, sir, are one of the considerate ones and I salute you for it. At the game on the 20th I was so close to ripping one of those large Jets flags out of the hands of an exuberant fan in front of me. I instead settled for a friendly tap on the shoulder and he realized that his flag was completely blocking my view. He apologized and it all ended well.

Or if you sit in the very back like me! I wish they had sold standing room only, I never sit on my seat haha.

Cuthbert is the best in the business bar none.

Great GDT Hammer, looks awesome.

I'm kind of glad Mason is in tonight. It's preseason. Winning and losing doesn't mean anything. This is the time where we see what guys like Mason can give this team going forward.

I've seen enough of Pavelec to believe that we have a chance win any game he plays. From what I've seen in the other guys I'm not confident. Mason looks shaky.

But that's why I want to see him play this game. If he continues to look shaky I hope Chevy sees it and works to upgrade our backup goalie position.

Agreed! I love seeing the Jets win games but I'm glad that they are giving others ice time and giving not only some rookies a shot, but having our backup become more confident.

Hopefully this translates to not only more wins later on in the season but that we aren't relying only on Pavelec...as great as I think he is

OH

and great game day thread Hammer!

I am pretty sure that these are the lines that CJOB reported.

Ladd - Little - Wheeler
Pesonen - Burmistrov - Antropov
Kane - Schiefele - Gregoire
Cormier - Maxwell - Bodie

I look forward to that third line. Let's hope for some Kane and Scheifele magic.

Most interesting for me is the second line. Antro is Antro, but the other two guys need to show us what's up.

I really hope Pesonen can make the team, I think he's got a shot at the 3rd line.

Burmistrov needs to step up. It's fun to watch him dangle but let's see what else he's ready for. He doesn't need to play like a 27 year old, just play like a 19 year old who can help this team win.

Don Whitman will forever be a legend. That man would still be calling games like none other if he was still with us and he'd be so happy to be able to do Jets games again. He is greatly missed.

Absolutely. The day of his passing was a sad day for us all. His voice will always be remembered.

Yea I agree that third line is very interesting I like Gregoir's two way game and drive to the net, and of coarse it will be fun to watch Mark work with Kane! I am in New York and set my PVR so I hope it works I will be reading the GDT when I get back to the hotel

This will be the first time the entire nation sees the team play at MTS Centre. Hopefully, everyone in the league will see how loud this building can be.

Whether it was the Jets or the Bombers, Wittman's voice will ALWAYS RESONATE with my youth. I can still hear his voice like it was yesterday.
