Interested?
That wouldn't make up for his atrocious defense and general not caring.

Especially since he now plays on the offensively-gifted Caps.

So you expect Olesz to better than Brouwer defensively?

And Olesz will care more? Demonstrated by how many more times he sticks up for his teammates? Brouwer was often the only one willing to drop the mitts to protect/defend a teammate.

You might want to ask a few players for their opinion of Troy Brouwer as a teammate, it might be slightly different than yours.

I am sure Brouwer will have more pts ,, He will probably get to drag down Ovechkin/Backstrom and get some pts

And of course he will have more hits then either Olesz or Carcillo ,, Not hard to accumulate hits when you neglect playing D and just go around hitting everyone

Olesz is alot better defensively then Brouwer ,, Anyone who believes Brouwer is better defensive player needs there head examined

Who said anything about care more? Olesz isn't a fighter so not sure how comparing him to average fighter makes any sense

And I am sure many of Olesz former mates loved him just fine (Frolik is his friend) ,,, Not sure how me pointing out that Brouwer isn't a good hockey player means he isn't a good guy in lockerroom as you are arguing

Brouwer without Kane/Toews = Horrid hockey player

Horrid D
Stupid penalties
Very little offense

I think Brouwer will surprise alot of his detractors this year snd he will fit in quite nicely in Washington ... like he did here though inconsistently.... but MM is right in that he was one of the few Hawks that stood up for his teammates even last season with a bad shoulder for who knows how many games. I suspect quite a few.

Isn't this "standing up for your teammates" stuff the tagline for why we got Mayers, Carcillo, Scott, and Montador?
