1. Saad. If he has a big game I believe that he starts the season with the Hawks as a trial period until Sharp comes back. Let's not forget how good Saad-Toews-Stalberg has looked at times.

2. Smith. He needs another big game like last game to show that he belongs at this level. He's also centering and I believe if he does well there he'll be our 4C.

3. Lepisto v O'Donnell. Very telling that these two are the bottom pairing in today's game. I think they're trying to see which of the two they like better there. IMO, Montador isn't playing today so they can see who will be the last starting defenseman.

4. Kane. How will he play as a center?
Yes ... agreed on all counts. We will finally see a semblance of our starting team tonight. On paper, it should be no contest.

Kane isn't taking faceoffs, wonder who is going to do that for his line. Brunette?

Well a lot of fresh blood here, but beware Chicago, these players have much to play for. Established players doesnt give 100% in a preseason game (why risk injury etc). But these do.

I assume Mayers will take the draws on the fourth line. Really like what that fourth line brings. Two capable offensive players in Smith/Olesz while still bringing some grit/energy and not having a single player kill the offensive flow.

We're aware. Our C team took the Wings to a shootout a couple games back.

Agreed. I also don't mind them working Carcillo in and out of that line when guys get hurt/need a night off/need another fighter on the ice.

Quiz that's worth 10% of my grade or else it wouldn't be a second thought.

Where do people go for streams? Justin.tv? Myp2p?

Perhaps you should focus on the quiz and not the Hawks preseason game

It'll be a sad day in Motown if he ever lines up there in a game that actually matters.

Curious what hawks fans think about Ryan Johnson as a 4th line center/ 13th forward?

Should be an easy W for the hawks tonight though

I've been hearing Wing fans talk up Cory Emmerton. If he's behind Ryan Johnson on the depth chart, he's not that good.

Johnson is an average PK guy, that can win faceoffs, and do nothing else outside of block shots. He's the forward version of Brent Sopel.

Now you've done it. He'll probably open the Wing scoring.
