How is Vokoun looking? Most intriguing move of the offseason.

Will they tandem, or is he expected to take over as #1?

wow. because we've never seen purrutu come out all gangbusters for a few games and then... disappear until he gets sent down.

I am glad to see MP doing his thing, it keeps pressure on our other centers if nothing else.

Even those that don't like MP admit he brings instant offense early in his callups. I still think it was a mistake to overlook him when we started struggling to score in the playoffs. Particularly Montreal. Sit BMo, Flash, Beagle, Steckel, Hendricks.

Side note, I met a dude from DC at a half marathon that looks exactly like him, scruff beard, same build. Named Mathew and from Canada, slight accent. He had never heard of MP85. Felt like an idiot.

Pretty hard to lock your best preseason scorer as your 14th forward.

Totally ridiculous to label a 23 YO rookie as an inconsistent career underachiever...but I am used to read it on this board....very typical.

What if......Perreault suddenly becomes a consistent NHLer as he matures?

We've seen hundreds of such cases in the past....it would not be a first for sure; plus he has the skillset and the toolbox.

Holtby apparently recalled.

55/52 might want to cover the crease area. 2-1 Preds.

Any chance his call up then lack of scoring last year could have been due to that possible concussion he kept hushhush? He was up here for awhile after that

To be fair, he's never been given a chance to work through it -not that I want a 3 foot tall center anywhere near this team.

Don't criticize the best defensive pairing in the league.

Doesn't sound like Eakin or Sjogren are doing much tonight to convince the organization that, despite their waiver-exempt status, they should stay up with the big club (at the possible expense of losing another depth forward to waivers).

Have to imagine that, based on Boudreau's recent comments, they were both already Hershey bound unless they did something that forced him to reconsider.

Don't stop there. GOAT. (There they are on the ice for another one...)

The new UFA additions & Orlov are the only interesting part of this pre-season so far.

yeah, i had that thought--hell, bondra used to go on unholy slumps. but i knew bondra. that kid's no bondra.

what makes me worry, more than the fade away routine, is the quotes from management about maturity/attitude problems. don't feel like trying to find the article, but there were unveiled comments about his lack of understanding of what it means to be a professional. not hard to imagine what those quotes were about--kid got up to d.c. and acted like a kid with a bunch of money in a cool town, rather than acting like someone who had a job to do.

meh. if he's a real solution to a problem on this team, then this team has real problems.

Ugh... its way to soon for me to start my trade Mike Green rants. I fear his value will just go down and down. As soon as he starts to pick his game up he will get hurt. And he will be this on and off player that never goes back to 09-10 game. I just don't want to over pay him next season.

Funny reading these comments about the lack of maturity of a rookie when main ingredients on this team have showed no better.
If you think this team does not have already real problems with the fading leaders in the playoffs, there you are dilusional.

I would say it is time to try something different.

Now I do not mean that MP is THE solution, but has he been tried seriously?

i know i'm beating my head against the wall here, but...

if 50 goal scorers have maturity problems... well... they're still 50 goal scorers. if raw rookies show up, play great for a few games, then coast and start partying, management will NEVER try him "seriously." i wouldn't either. do you honestly think he would've gotten sent down if management thought his disappearance was something he'd work himself out of? if that's the case, then why does he always play great as soon as he comes up, then disappear? it seems abundantly clear he lacks the maturity/drive/whatever to make a consistent effort in the nhl, and he's never proven to the contrary.

4-1 Preds. Some horrible D-zone positioning from 55/52 & 27/74 in this one.
