I was at the game tonight, had a great time, saw some promising things but there is one trend we HAVE TO STOP. MY Biggest Pet Peeve when it comes to hockey is when people watching the game, especially Sens fans, leave before the game is done, showing a total lack off respect for the players and the game. Any thoughts on how we curb this behaviour?

It has 100% to do with the fact getting out of there takes forever. And if you catch the bus, they don't give you much time to get there. I get to the entrance/exit for the last minute of the game...and at the buzzer, i speed walk to my exit...the bus is already full, some are already leaving.

... I always, and I mean always have enough time to watch the three stars and go to the bathroom before walking to catch one of the last 403s (and I always get a seat on those last 403s).
My professor stated that one of the most crucial factors that enable the early departure of a group is the presence of functional kneecaps within the members of the group. If you neutralize that factor by taking out their kneecaps then they become unable to leave early even if they wanted. The most cost effective way to do so is through the utilization of successive rapid strikes to the patella with a ball peen hammer.

Pretty much. I mean yeah, we all want people to stop walking out 10+ minutes early, but what are more hardcore fans like us that always stay until the end really going to do about it? I can't think of anything. There's just no solution for this.
This is an age-old argument between hardcore Sens fans (like u and me) and people with families and jobs the next day. I remember arguing this out on the ottawasenators.com guestbook (before the days of a forum). The thing is they paid their ticket and they're welcome to leave when they want to - regardless of how disrespectful it may seem. I know - I've been there and seen those people get up at 7:24 left in the 3rd with a 3-2 lead and felt the same way - but that's just how it is. Not everyone going to the game is a hardcore fan - in fact some of them are an embarrassment to fans and know nothing about the game (the lady who called into TGOTR in 2009 for a chance to win Sens tix and was asked "what former Ottawa Senator is now a commentator for the Team 1200? [Vanner] and she said "Umm....hahahah...I don't know..um....Chris Kelly?") But they're buying the $160 seats and bringing their kids. It's frustrating but they can do as they please and you gotta suck it up.
Look I drive 3 hrs from Morrisville, NY up to the game and I stay till I'm last in SBP. I can't expect the same from everyone else and if people leave early oh well it's their business. Chin up - we know how the real fans are.

It takes 15-30 minutes sometime to get out of the parking lot over at the casino durring the fire works it takes 5-10 minutes you fix it then people will not be in such a rush.

came here to post this.
All they need to do is fix the parking lot so we can get out in 5-10 minutes instead of 20-30 minutes.
Personally if we are losing badly ill leave 5 min early but if it is an exciting match i stay for the three stars.
I wondered if that was the case. Then yeah, I can see why it'd be a pain trying to catch a bus after the game.
The 405, to and from orleans. I'm not sure if there are 3 or 4...Theres 3 on the way to. Don't know about the way back.
I find by the time i get there...bus number 1 is full and leaving...bus number 2 is packed with people still trying to get in...number 3 i get on and sometimes have a seat, sometimes don't. It seems like the 3rd one fills up within 10-15 minutes of the game ending. It takes almost 10 minutes just to get back to the buses. Maybe i've taken longer therefore my numbers are off...but it always seems like they're in a hurry to leave. Ironically, it takes forever to get out of there...
Has the new onrap helped with the time it takes the buses to leave going back east? Anyone notice? I hated how the buses had to follow with regular traffic.

Yep, completely agree. The parking lot situation is beyond shameful at SBP.
As previously mentioned, people usually wait between 20 minutes to an hour whenever leaving Scotiabank Place from either hockey games or other events by vehicle. I don't blame anyone in the slightest for doing so, its a pain in the ass getting out of there.
If you look at a map of the are around SBP think of how much 2 on ramps south of the 417, and east of huntmar dr. would help.
Basically 2 on ramps going east right off cyclone taylor blvd. One for buses (which i believe has been put in this year?) and one for regular traffic. It's a pain having to go west to come back east when you can easily put on ramps right away near the parking lot. These on ramps would be cheap as there are no bridges required...just 1 paved lane meeting the 417.
I leave early almost every single time. Significantly less time driving home > having to check my computer/phone to see if they scored two goals in the last fifty seconds. Sorry. I guess that doesn't make me hardcore.
