Victorino should have caught that ball, but Cliff should not have been pitching the 7th.

They just stopped playing baseball after the 2nd inning. What an ugly loss.

Cole needs to bring it and the bats need to wake up.

why would I be jumping ship? They have lost game 2 of the series before and still come back to win. it isnt going to be easy though.

I'd feel better about Cole if he didn't give up that 2r bomb in Atlanta and stink it up against this very Cards team 2 starts ago, and against the Astros prior to that. Maybe he just wasn't focused as in 2 of 3 of those games it was against the Astros and in a meaningless game against Atlanta and he didn't really care. He's been giving up a lot of 4 base hits lately, and that needs to change now.

Do I think he can pitch a gem? Sure. I'd feel a lot better if he pitched in September like he pitched in August.

They still need to beat two of Hamels/Oswalt/Halladay. The Phillies are fine.

Neither manager has a lot of faith in their pens.

His September wasnt dominant but he still was very good. I know he pitched Wednesday but that was only for 3 innings so he will be rested better. Garcia is going to be tough though.

So in the 2nd quarter I sent a text to my buddy that I'd be out of our suicide pool after the Eagles collapsed in the 4th quarter, and in the middle of the 4th inning I said to my fiance, I feel like this is game 6 of the World Series.

2 for 2 when I wanted to be 0 for 2.

It's just frustrating, you give Lee a 4 run lead and he has to hold it. he couldnt even go 7 tonight.

He was good, but I don't know if I'd say he was "very good" in September (yes I know I'm meandering into semantics here). He pitched well in NY and in Milwaukee, but poorly in Houston and average in Florida, and gave up those 2 bombs against the Cards. He's been making pitches, but lately he's been leaving that one killer pitch that gets hit into the stands a lot more often. He's given up 19 HRs all year, but 9 of those came in September. Can't do that against the Cards. He's also walked 9 batters in September which matched his monthly high.

It was kinda an up and down month for Cole. Here's hoping it's UP against the Cards.
