...dude, they had no idea if he was going to be able to play in Spring Training, and season ending surgery was on the able with an iffy long term prognosis following it.

So, as said, yeah, his production was down this year.

I absolutely know what he's getting paid and what his results are. I just find it hard to believe any team with a decent payroll and a desire to compete (Baltimore, Cubs, etc.) wouldn't take a chance on him.

Largely because Utley isn't egregiously overpaid starting next year, nor is he an easy out.

I would trade Utley depending on what you could get for him.

Actually for bad contracts... I'd still have to say Werth is still up there.
I think they will just promote Galvis. I kind of want Reyes, but he'll cost too much for someone who can't stay healthy.

I'd only ever trade Howard if we got Fielder or Puljos or someone of equal value first.

hmm yea cause I didnt point out that he played 103 games earlier? He played 94 games in his second year and had better stats than this year.

Cubs are trying to shed terrible contracts, not acquire em. Plus, they can go throw money at a Fielder if they want to spend at first.

Haha, me too.... I'm still extremely disappointed in them, but I called a first round exit back in June, so now I have bragging rights amongst my friends...... But I would rather have a WS parade

I'm actually optimistic of Utley having a better year next year. Hopefully injury free at the start of the season, get a little stronger and get that swing back.

Dude, are you high?

That's been said for the last two seasons.

Amaro was beating that drum about the entire offense following the Giants elimination; evidently, they got unlucky with injuries and as soon as everyone was healthy, they would start hitting like it was 2007 again. It didn't happen and it isn't going to happen.

True.

Someone better re-teach him how to hit then, because he's pissing me the hell off. Stands way too far off the plate late in the season, and the catchers/pitchers see that and eat him alive.

Utley and Polanco need to take as long as they need to get healthy. I don't want to see them back until they're 100% (if they can get there)

Of course some team would take a chance on him. I just want him gone.

according to TBS howard needs an MRI, could be an Achilles tear. If that's the case, he's probably out all next year.

Would have never happened if Gload didn't get on base haha. Funny how it works.

I really think people under appreciate how awful Howard's contract is.

Werth I'd still say is worse, but both are bad.

Hope we have a Wally Pipp moment. Wonder what Goldschmidt would cost us.
