You don't think potentially losing one of the teams best players, and only good center, to a possible concussion just when the team is getting on a roll is cause for concern?
cause for concern, yes. but life goes on and they will have to find a way.
that said, last night's precaution and this morning's migrane is troubling. sounds a lot like backstrom is going to be out for a period of time.
this is where the caps policy of no information is a killer. beagle wanted to come back in the game and his not practicing was purely a precaution. then he didnt play for 35 games or such.
based on that backstrom is out for the season. too bad the caps cant be straight with us.
Isn't there a league mandate that you have to chill in the quiet room after a hit like that? Christ.
It's a mandate that hasn't been followed at all, though. Understandable for a hit like this where the game is practically over and he only got two shifts afterward, but the quiet room has become something of a joke around the league for how many concussed players never seem to end up there.
That said, plenty of cases where the symptoms have a bit of a delayed onset so it's not totally surprising.
Got my tickets got my tickets got my tickets.... The downside to no longer being in the area.
But hopefully new schedule means I'm guaranteed two games or more per year.
WRT Backstrom. Sucks. The outcome will be interesting. I think Shanny is going to nail him. Too many things line up especially since we dont know extent of injury.
I assume this is for the upcoming L.A. game? Will you be sitting in the first row directly behind the Caps bench, so we can all watch you eat the healthy nachos smothered in microwave heated cheese wiz.
