Shame he has to go home. I think this kid has the potential to be better the F. Forsberg. I would take him in the top 10...

What's the nature of the injury? How long will he be out?

I don't know much about him. Anyone have any NHL comparisons?

Pontus Aberg's injury

Would someone be kind enough to tell me what injury Pontus Aberg suffered during the WJC exhibition match versus Canada, and when he is perhaps expected to recover?

I was looking forward to seeing him in the tournament..heck I was looking forward to seeing him in that game, which was televised on TSN. He is highly regarded for the draft even if he's had limited viewing by many NA scouts.

Thanks for the info.

On a hit by Oleksiak in a WJC exhibition game as I've since discovered.

Doing some last minute writing for Bob's release tomorrow Grant?... Haha.

So we know that Aberg is inside the top 30 of McKenzie's rankings that come out tomorrow, or atleast one could assume.

He most assuredly does. This is the exact point in the season where Zibanejad went from relative unknown to top 20 pick.

Any updates on Aberg?

Also, could someone give a description of how he plays?

He had a hard time taking his team spot back after his all his injuries and has not been as good since. He did play better the last few games of the SEL relegation round though. Right now he´s playing on the swedish U19 team in St. Petersburg where he scored two goals against the Latvian mens national team and added 2 assists in todays 2-1 victory over the czechs.

He plays the game similar to Marcus Johansson of the Washington Capitals but he is perhaps more of a goalscorer than a playmaker and plays a bit more physical and with more grit than Johansson.

Thanks. I'm hoping the Devils pick him. We are already building a nice Swedish nation on our team.

If injuries push him out of the 1st round he'll be the steal of the draft.

I definitely think he can drop out of the first round, he will be a good pick in that case.

Am I the only one who thinks the Sens will be targetting him at 15th overall? Well, assuming they lose in the 1st round that is, lol.

He played with Zibby, and should go around that pick. Send haven't shied away from injured players either (Cowen, Puempel, etc..)

Similar production to Forsberg this season. Can someone provide a scouting report and NHL comp?

Yup but he was on fire at the start of the season, had something like 8 points in 8 games iirc. He really slowed down over the season, but then again injures played a big part in that.
