So let's take it one step further than. What about a top 10 all-inclusive (feds, d & g's) swedes list. Prospects constitute players with less than a regular season under their belt...with the exception of Adam Larsson.

1. Forsberg
2. Zibanejad
3. Nyquist
4. Silfverberg
5. Rundblad
6. Lehner
7. Markstrom
8. Jarnkrok
9. Erixon
10. F. Claesson

Claesson at 10! Yikes! Care to elaborate?

Who's better, Claesson or Bäckman? Both 5th rounder D-men from last summer.

Claesson is nowhere near top10 in Swedish prospects, I'm not even sure that I would rank him top10 in defensemen either.

He makes a lot of mistakes, sometimes he just looks like he doesn't know what to do on the ice (lack of hockey-IQ?), his skating isn't that good and is quite bad with the puck as well. At the moment he is not even a decent SEL-defenseman in my eyes (I know I wouldn't want him on my team, that's for sure) and if his development doesn't skyrocket during the summer I'd say that he needs at least 2-3 more years to become a good SEL defenseman.

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm just not a fan of Claesson, he is a stay at home defenseman but at the same time he makes quite a lot of mistakes that you shouldn't make in your own zone at the level he is playing at.

List of young swedish defensemen in SEL that I rank higher than Claesson currently without thinking that much about it:

Brodin
Klefbom
Nemeth
Ekholm
Dahlbeck
Bäckman
Gunnarsson
Alm
Burström

But then again, I'm not a fan of Claesson. There's probably some people that disagree with what I just wrote but I also think that there's plenty of people that agrees with me as well.

How about Almqvist?

I definitely disagree with you, he is pretty allround and among the few Djurgården D-men that doesn´t make a lot of mistakes. He is definitely not among the top 10 prospects though.

Yeah, I'd probably rank him above Claesson as well even though Almqvist have had some issues with injuries this season if I remember correctly.

As I wrote in my other post the list is just based on whoever I could come up with at the moment that I would rank higher than Claesson. If I would take some time and go through all the teams in SEL I could find at least 4-5 more young defenseman that I would rank above him too.

I've seen plenty of Djurgården this season and he makes a lot of mistakes but I guess it depends on what you compare it too.

I guess you meant to exclude Landeskog, too, right?

Think it's more noticeable to have Zibanejad at 2 with Järnkrok at 8, myself.

Think there are three forward prospects that's playing in a category above the others and those would be Silfverberg, Järnkrok and Nyquist.

Not counting the '12 class.

Collberg vs Åberg in a Superelit game today, Collberg scored 2 and Åberg with a hattrick.

Can anyone shed some light on where Filip Forsberg is playing now? I can't find Leksands playing anywhere. Thanks

Leksand are waiting for the pre-qualification round to end before competing to gain an Elitserien spot for next season.

After eight shutouts and the best GAA and save percentage in the league, Frederik Andersen is the final nominee for Elitserien's Rookie of the Year. The other nominees are Åberg, Johan Larsson and Gustafsson.

First non-swede ever to be nominated.

If we do fs and ds draftees only(with rookie eligibility) I'd do something like:
1. Brodin
2. Nyquist
3. Zibanejad
4. Erixon
5. Rundblad
6. Jarnkrok
7. Silfverberg
8. Klefbom
9. W. Karlsson
10. J.Larsson

Goalies:
1. Markstrom
2. Lehner
3. Nilsson
4. Gustafsson
5. Lack
6. Hellberg
7. Owuya
8. Eriksson
9. Pettersson-Wentzel
10. Forsberg

Many players are very close in terms of potential though, it's about what you prefer.

Awesome. I remember how he used to dominate J20 SuperElit.

http://bambuser.com/v/2475066 Brynas-Sodertalje J20 if someone is interested. There's not too many streams around for that league normally.

Oscar Dansk, Elias Lindholm, Emil Molin, Emil Lundberg, William Nylander in action to name a few.

Numbers and line-ups can be found here.

He had two assists in the first game aswell, so 5pts in 2 games. Tied for the playoff scoring lead albeit very early. Remarkable.
