I'm sure Forsberg will be great, but we really did need to add a solid two-way guy like Lindholm.

Lol that's why I wanted Trouba. Winnipeg got a great guy. I'm happy with Lindholm at the moment, though.

It's essentially the same decision Edmonton faced taking Yakupov over Murray. You should always go BPA that early in the draft, though, imo.

Hampus has high hockey IQ and lots of tangible skill he has alot of upside, of course Forsberg could end up a better player, doesn't make it a bad pick though

Not at all. Just responding to someone who said that although Forsberg will be great, they needed a solid two-way guy like Lindholm. I just don't think that should be the criteria on if it was a good pick or not.

I didn't mean it that way. I was just saying that it's not like Hampus doesn't fit a need for us.

Our scouts might have had Forsberg ranked below a number of guys who were still available as far as we know. They picked who they thought was the BPA and since Madden took over as head scout, our drafting has been among the best in the NHL. Lets wait until Forsberg even makes it over to North America before we decide if the pick was a good one or not. The league Forsberg is scoring a PPG is the same one Karlsson scored a PPG in last season at the same age.

Also Andre Petersson 2g/2a in 2 games (1 EN goal) and Lehner has 2 wins out of 2 games played (not sure stats since its preseason lol)

That is not true Karlsson Played 7 games with Borås 08-09 and got 1 point and he played 45 games for Frölunda and got 10 point . Filip is top 10 in scoring and he leads his own team in scoring (he is also ahead of Kopitar and Berglund ).

William Karlsson, scored 45 points in 46 games last season...
Don't be so quick to judge.

Sorry my fault but still talked about it as if it was easy the thing Filip is doing for the moment.

William Karlsson was impressive last season but he also played on the top line with the league leading scorer. Forsberg plays with a couple of solid but not great players.

Elias Lindholm is up to 2+2 in the 8 games he's played now. If he keeps playing in this role I think he'll have a shot at the 26 points Backstrom had in his draft year. If Jarnkrok wasn't in this huge slump he'd probably have even more production to this point.

Make that 2+3.

well if you can just get a good player out of a draft you've done well for yourself, i hope Forsberg does pan out, i was surprised how far he fell, and he could make alot of GM's look foolish

Was St. Louis taking E. Johnson over Toews, Backstrom, Kessel, etc doing well for themselves?

They traded him for Shattenkirk, and Stewart. Making their team deeper, so yes, yes they did.
