Lombardi*

* based on information I've read and assuming 80% of it is true.

Lombardi. Doughty hasn't earned the right to make such ridiculous demands with such little proven outside of one extraordinary year. While I don't doubt how much better he will get, there is a thing about paying your dues that he must learn about.

He has the option of earning a lot of money now and a hell of a lot more when he is in his later 20s. His lack of commitment to the team for selfish reasons are bothersome, but given the rules of the CBA, it permits Doughty to have these options. It is just unfortunate that he isn't being more proactive in the process.

I don't support either.

The only winners in this are our rivals like the Ducks and Sharks. The Kings are losers because their most valuable and dynamic player is out. And Doughty is a loser because he isn't getting paid and is missing valuable training camp and pre-season time.

They both should be embarrassed that they haven't been able to compromise and reach a deal. They have been able to negotiate since July of last year. It's truly pathetic.

My option wasn't on the poll. I support both. I think Doughty is right and same with Lombardi. I like both of them!

I'm a HUGE fan of Drew's and have a Doughty jersey (which I don't know if I want to wear to Frozen Fury), but I picked Lombardi. With all we've heard so far, I think the Kings offers are hugely fair. Being one of the highest (if not the highest) Kings ever, being in the top 5 dmen paid in the WHOLE LEAGUE is way beyond fair. At this point, Drew needs to figure things out, as the season is knocking on the door. He's not only hurting himself, he's hurting the team (well, except Hickey and Voynov. )

DL, the team and the organization as a whole. he has offered a very lucrative contract to a kid that still has to show improvement to the point of the being a Lidstrom, a Weber, a Chara, etc. flashes of brilliance are just that.....flashes. he hasn't shown consistency yet like others before him have.

someone needs to explain to Drew this isn't how you spell ..... teIam

As expected, it's a landslide in favor of DL.

I have to wonder of those who voted for DL, how many actually know the facts?

DD/DM's camp have yet to throw out an AAV. All they've requested was a 5 yr term.

I find it hard to believe that posters here would be against JUST the 5 yr term not knowing the AAV.

"Team" Doughty? Hahahahaha. But seriously, I'm caring less and less about the situation as the days go by.

You can't spell 'win' without an 'I.'

Lombardi hands down. Doughty needs to step in and make something happen. But we all know his immaturity, so it will most likely not happen. And screw Meehan.

And here's a perfect example.

Please tell me how much DD's camp has asked for.

I disagree. If the most important thing to Doughty is that he gets a 5 year deal then that is the most disturbing thing to me. At 21, he's already got one foot out the door.

Thank you "glass half empty".

Edit:
Crosby, Malkin, Toews, Kane, Getzlaf, Perry all have 5 year deals. I guess they all must have one foot out the door.

I have no idea how or why people think 5 year deals a bad thing.

I am almost sure that DM wants the same deal as Stamkos; if not how much do you think he is asking for ?
