I know it's cliche, but the WJC really comes down to solid, clutch goaltending. If you don't get that, you're not going to win.
I haven't liked his play for about a year and a month, I wonder why.

But last year I much preferred him over Olivier Roy. That guy gave up so many ridiculous goals. Didn't help that he seemed to be 4 feet tall. I remember a goal against Sweden where the puck actually went above his head and in when he was in a butterfly.

Anyway, I can't wait to see Scheifele in the WJC. Some of the hockey that excites me the most, and now I have even more to cheer about.

For my money Bunz should be Canada's starter, been playing awesome for the last year and a half and seems to have no problem raising his level of play to higher competition.

In other goaltender news in case it hasn't been posted here yet, Jason Kasdorf was named USHL goaltender of the week for last week.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba native stopped 26 shots in the 4-2 loss to Chicago on Friday before earning his second shutout of the week with a 36-save performance in the 4-0 win vs. Dubuque on Saturday. Kasdorf, 19, has posted shutouts in three of his six victories this season and leads USHL goalies in shutouts.

Yuen's grandmother passed away recently. I'm presuming he's away for personal reasons accordingly.

St. John's IceCaps 4 Toronto Marlies 2 (FINAL)

Game Summary
http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary...ame_id=1008979

Scoring
1. TOR Boyce, (4) (Zigomanis), 0:56
1. STJ McArdle, (1) (DeSantis, Rosa), 19:32 (PP)
1. STJ King, (9) (Rosa, DeSantis), 13:52 (PP)
3. TOR Wilson, (2) (Kadri), 5:08
3. STJ Albert, (2) (O'Dell, Cormier), 12:44
3. STJ Rosa, (6) (Postma), 19:13 (PP)

Starting Goaltender
David Aebischer

Notes
Not exactly sure why no more thread dedicated to the Jets farm club vs their non-professional prospects, but who am I to second guess?

Caps outshoot the Marlies 39-22.

St. John's PP really clicks today, going 3 for 6. They take 10 minutes in penalties themselves.

IceCaps record improves to 14-4-4-0 and go 5 points ahead of Manchester Monarchs in the Atlantic Division. They trail the Oklahoma City Barons by 1 point in the overall standings.
http://theahl.com/stats/statdisplay.php?type=standings

Marco Rosa leads the IceCaps in scoring with 22 points, next is Spencer Machacek with 19, then Carl Klingberg with 16.

Especially when they played with 9 forwards for most of the game. Clark was ill, and Weller left the game after a big hit

Not a big fan of combining the threads, but I'm not in charge, so just got to roll with it.

Was really nice to see SJ beat the baby Leafs. The ice caps seem to play a pretty dominant puck possession game from what I've seen.

I know it's not an ideal situation for guys especially interested in the baby jets or prospect threads, but I'm hoping everyone will get used to it.

Don't really understand why it was really necessary. Too many sticky's? Too many threads? Logically it makes sense to separate the professional prospects from the non-professional prospects. There's such a big difference in their development levels.

I agree bad decision here, but we all must roll with it

I just want to point out here that most people chearing for the Icecaps in St.John's,and im not speaking for everyone but a majority, honestly dont care how the Jets are doing,we see how the call ups are doing, nor honestly do we care much for the junior prospects, cause most probobly wont be here,at least a good few wont get to St.John's.Its hard to discuss about the Ahl team over pages of every score.Dont get me wrong i like the Jets but most fans here have their own favorate nhl team that they focus on,I love the Icecaps but Being a Ducks fan the Jets and their prospects dont matter much, till they suit up here, thats just an opinion but either or we will all get use to it
