Won't be long until the Colts have another player in the top 10 OHL scorers.

Impressed with Telegin's play so far.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. What kind of competition would there be for the No. 1 Centre spot on the Canadian junior team? Strome? Huberdeau is injured, Johanson, Couturier and Nugent-Hopkins are all in the NHL this season.

Too bad in the NHL he'd get a penalty for slashing.

14 goals 25 assists for 39 points in 18 games. Leading scorer in the OHL. And Behenna and Hall are 3rd and 5th.

Because other then a really good first line, Barrie has gotten crap all in terms of scoring from other lines. Pretty imbalanced offence they've got at the moment.

Colts vs Majors: fun game last night. Scheifele looked good. Had pretty good seats for the show.

Most of the scoring issues have been due to injuries/missed games. Scheifele missed 11 while he was up with the Jets. Telegin has been injured and has missed 8 with injuries, and his effectiveness has been limited in some that he played. Eric Locke, the team's second line LW has missed 12 with injury, and Stephen Beyers (Scheifele's RW last year) has missed 8 or 9 as well.

Goaltending has been pretty good, though Niederberger isn't getting nearly enough rest so every now and then he appears to let in a lack of concentration type goal.

The other issue is that it seems like we're getting out coached three nights out of four... The PK has been better since the return of Scheifele but that's more a result of his talent than system. Overall, it's been brutal on the season, at one point (just before Mark got back) running at ~ 75% (worst in the league).

Beautiful goal - partial breakaway from the top of the circle after a gorgeous saucer pass by Pearson. He put it right into corner of the posts so it shot down off the goalie's back and in. Other than having a little bit of trouble with the physical play of Luke Hietkamp, he had a very solid game.

Credit for the assist certainly, but it was a blocked pass from the side-boards that was supposed to go down low. Ekblad jumped in to save the play and blasted it past D'Agostino. All 15-year-old phenom on that one...

Holy crap, Zachary scores two big goals tonight, his 4th and 5th of the season.

They changed the scoring for the game and gave Yuen 1G and 1A. I guess one of his shots was tipped.

Saw the Bulls and Generals do battle tonight.

Liked what I saw from Brassard. I had heard he had become a lot more committed to his play away from the puck and had improved his consistency from shift to shift...and I saw evidence of that tonight. While he wasn't great offensively in terms of creating chances (what player was tonight?), he worked hard away from the puck and was up on the forecheck forcing a few turnovers, throwing some good hits and working well along the boards for loose pucks. He also made a couple of very nice plays on the backcheck. We know he's got offensive skill and can bury pucks around the crease, but the progression of his overall game is very encouraging for his NHL potential.

Hockey's Future's fall organizational rankings has the Jets' prospects at # 28. No elite scorers, defencemen or goalies on the horizon, they say. I think Redmond and Pasquale may leap several notches on our top prospects list in the spring.

Yeah, our depth is pretty bad. Also, Scheifele seems a little underrated as well. He seems like a solid blue-chip.

I foresee NHL careers ahead of Redmond/Melchiori/Yuen for sure. I think they all play a slightly similar game. Based on good smarts, positioning, skating, and puck movement that I think is fantastic. Not exactly flashy, but they are all showing themselves as very fine D-men.

I also reeeeally like Pasquale, he's performed very well and old Atlanta management and new management see a career ahead of him. So I'm not the only one.

We desperately need scoring in our system (hell on our team at all).

It's one of the reasons I hope we go for a Forsberg or Grigerenko (or Yakupov if we're really that bad) in the next draft.
