Been to only one game there. Two years ago, PO Game 6 against Manchester which they won. Needless to say that game was a sell out. Great atmosphere and fans though. Planning on making a trip this season, WBS probably would be a good choice just because of the Caps/Pens rivalry.
Hershey vs WBS have a rivalry that predates Hershey becoming affiliated with the Capitals. It's pretty intense.
I'll be making the trip to Hershey tomorrow to watch my first AHL game and I'm super excited!
I was hoping I could watch Holtby play, I'm not sure if he'll get the start tomorrow against WBS, but I hope so.
Sounds like it's still possible it could be any of the 3: Holtby, Grubauer or Sabourin. Bears play 3 in 3; French has said if Grubauer is up all weekend, he'll get a start, but plenty of question marks about timing of Sabourin's return, etc. Assume Sabourin stays in Washington to back-up tomorrow and it will be one of Holtby or Grubauer partly dependent on how Holtby plays tonight. If you see Grubauer, you get to see his first pro start for a regular season game.

1. ALB Zalewski, (2) (Corrente, Veilleux), 6:52
1. HER Ford, (3) (Aucoin), 10:37
1. HER Eakin, (3) (Bourque), 18:47 (PP)
2. HER Hanson, (2) (Eakin), 5:57
3. HER Kane, (1) (Orlov, Ford), 18:03 (PP)
- 12 different HBH players with a goal this season
- 17 different skaters with a point
- Bourque and Aucoin with a point in each game
- 5 skaters have dressed for at least 1 game and not tallied a point (plus the goalies)
check out the orlov BOMBS at 0:04 and 1:42, the first blowing by the goalie and particularly the 2nd which hits the goalie but has so much juice on it that it pops right off him and leads to an easy rebound goal
Hershey at Springfield 4-3 OTL Friday night and lost tonight 2-1 in Glens Falls to Adirondack.
Holtby lost his cool (twice) yesterday including a penalty for punching Atkinson and the Falcons scored the tying goal on that PP in the third period. The first time it was with MacLeod (attended Caps development camp summer of 2010) and they both got penalties. Bourque continued his point streak Friday night, but it ended tonight with the loss to the Phantoms. First game this season in which Bourque didn't have a point.
Sabourin was in goal tonight and played well from all reports. Orlov with the late goal with the pulled goalie to end the shutout bid, but Hershey lost 2-1.
Grubauer started tonight for the Stingrays playing in Elmira, Machesney Friday night. Stingrays won both games; 5-2 and 5-3, respectively. Friday night's game was a penalty/misconduct fest for Elmira; didn't listen tonight, but a quieter game looking at the boxscore.
Grubauer now has 3 starts and 3 wins for the Stingrays, all on the road. Grubauer's stats
Bears beat Bingo 3-2 Sunday night. Two most interesting facts of the night: 1.) Josh Godfrey seems to be sticking with an AHL team (Bingo) finally. 2.) My fiancé's face can turn redder then her and Eakin's hair combined when she won his Breast Cancer Awareness jersey.
Orlov's epic! open ice hip check. Bears were on the PP and Orlov's stick snapped on a slapshot form the high slot leading to a Bingo SH try and Orlov being the only Bear able to get back. Starts at :26.

Holtby is having a sub-par start. Sabo is showing him up big time so far. McNeill is being McNeill. Nothing really new, but still nice and steady. Sjogren has been fun to watch. Very smart player that uses his size well. He seems to have a slight mean streak to him I wasn't expecting. Orlov is walking that fine line of doing to much every game. Little bit more hard nose and better timing on putting on a one man show and he should be good to go.
As you might know, Sjogren may or may not return to Sweden already this year. I doubt the news releases, but i want to ask you wether Sjogren has any chance of being called up to Capitals if injuries occur on that team?
I think of a fourth line or perhaps absolute maximum a third line. Which player in Hershey would be the first one being called up if let's say, the Capitals fourth line center becomes injured?
Has Sjogren any chance at all in the near term to be called up to the Capitals do you think? Thanks
