With west teams already having brutal travel skeds I'd be all over the league complaining about bush league crap like this.

Yeah, yeah over react much lol But these are the situations that lead to guys getting injured. And the league should be helping, not hampering teams. Especially in mean nothing contests.

This is game one of me watching and waiting and hoping that Aaron 'cow patty' Volpatti gets knocked the &%$# out. And Bieksa too. God I hate the Canucks. lol
We also get to watch ratpierre, uh I mean Lapierre. I hope that team clean their act up. I don't know if it's just me, but they dove a lot last playoffs and it was all over the media as well.

Very good team, but they seem easy to dislike.

Hope we can keep this one close:

dantencer Dan Tencer
Best guess is that Smyth plays with Nugent-Hopkins and Eberle tonight, Hall plays with Horcoff and another winger. Don't think Hemsky is in.

I sure hope that he didn't hurt his shoulder in that last game. He went shoulder first into boards pretty hard.

Probably just letting him sit out the double header.

I hope.

If he hurt it again, I hope they try to trade him for anything decent they can get, which will be hard to do. A very injury prone player isn't that attractive even if he is just under a PPG player. Maybe at 3 Million max.

@
@Randidoll Hemsky is not hurt. He played last night and is unlikely to play in back-tbacks.

Thank god. If he does get hurt this year again, that is an option they have to look at throughout the year. Hemsky can also take a salary decrease which I can't see happening.

****.

I just can't get over it. I really hope he battles back and makes a comeback next year.
For a young guy like that, it's too bad that this didn't happen a month or two into the reg season. He at least could've banked some fat cheques b4 this.

Now he's in a lot of pain for a long time and he's probably not set up financially because he was injured while he's based on a low pay scale.

[edit]WTF was he thinking, playing for the Oilers. Didn't he know he was going to get injured?

Pffft!

That's just the kind of slacker attitude that had us finishing last the last two seasons.

I mentioned this in the Fedun thread, but I'm pretty sure that since he was traded while playing for the Oil in an NHL game, he'll go on the team's IR and collect his full NHL salary, probably for the next 2 years while he rehabs, for a total of 1.8 M. At least, I sure hope that's the case. If it is, with his smarts and education, the kid is already set for life. Doesn't make what happened to him any less awful, but it's a nice consolation at least. I guess. :/

Renney says he'll also go with the Bubble Boys, guys who decisions need to be made on that he needs to see more of – not Brule. Knows him.

I don't know if this really makes sense. Wouldn't it make more sense to sit Hall and Horcoff then, since everyone obviously knows them?

I think Brule's going to get his last shot to start the season.
