I'm ok with that third line but the 4th looks a little dicey to me.

Atleast that 4th line C shows up more than Brule.

Does anyone here believe they are waiting to announce a trade before the game starts to determine who is gonna play tonight? Just a thought.

No, I just think the media has no idea because there was no skate today.

pretty much, yeah. No skate means that there weren't any line combos to observe.

I'll be splitting my attention between this and UFC on Versus, so I'll be relying on all your fine commentating to help me figure out what all is going on.

I'll be watching the game since the fights are on Sportsnet One and not West, and I don't have One.

Thanks for posting those quotes .
Its unreal that the NHL refuses to do anything about this kind of play .
For years its been obvious that racing headlong into the end boards is bar none the stupidest and most dangerous aspect of the pro game .
WTF is it going to take for the NHL to take some action .....

It'll take an injury to a superstar. Just like how it took an injury to Crosby for the NHL to start taking headshots seriously.

Still, they didn't ban headshots entirely. The best alternative might be hybrid icing, but I don't even think this happening to a star would make the NHL go to 100% no-touch icing overnight. Sad, but probably true.

Well, with Foster emailing Fehr and asking for the NHLPA to get the ball rolling to try to change the rule, maybe something will finally happen.

Wouldn't be surprised to see this being one of the things worked out in the new CBA.

no touch icing eliminates the danger and stops players just dumping it to relieve the pressure and in fact probably makes more scoring chances

You're probably right , but we may as well not even have a player's union if that's the case .

Don't think so. In the last game against Edmonton the Oilers iced pretty much their NHL offense and the Canucks had what I would call their 10-16th defensemen.

It always ends up being closer than you think. I wouldn't even be surprised if the Oilers stayed in this game all the way through.

I secretly hope that Renney continues playing with the lines and we get to see Lander center Hall and Paajarvi.
