Maclean must be Portland bound if he's not in the lineup tonight.

Edit: I guess that's just a "pending" lineup until later?

Not sure its what Dave Vest has as the current lineup, I feel like Maclean is on his way to portland ( as he should be) but not sure why there has not been any info on it.

Please, point out what Chip did better than Maclean or Miele...

None of us have seen enough to make a seriously educated comment regarding who should and should not make the roster, but from what I've seen; the roster as it looks to be panning out, makes perfect sense.

I wanted nothing more than for Tik's to make the club, but I personally saw others outperforming him. I have yet to see that MacLean can play consistently at this level.

In all honesty, the most upsetting thus far is the Turris situation; as he started to show promise. He is not only hurting himself, but more importantly the team.

compete in maclean case, and miele just needs to get on speed with the NHL he will be back sooner than later.

I would argue but I feel like you aren't educated enough to get any point. Chipchura and Maclean/Miele have different roles. If you don't understand that, then take some time to learn about the game.

I know you have a problem with my post and put me on ignore but whatever. Its funny to see everyone get their panties in a bunch when there has not been a game played this season after two seasons of playoff hockey. No wonder Phoenix fans have a bad rep for being uneducated when it comes to hockey.

Can you honestly say Mac or Miele made an airtight case to make the team?

Leaving all that aside, Mac isn't a center, and Miele should probably be in the AHL regardless.

I wonder if Chip is viewed as the replacement for Winnik who I think played a valuable role for this team 2 years ago that wasn't entirely represented by his point totals.

Miele is part of the plan. His point production tailed off significantly the minute he started to see more experienced NHL level talent. That's not a criticism, that was to be expected. Sending him to the AHL to garner some pro experience is a good thing IMO. I expect he'll be up sooner rather than later if POS falters.

McLean. He's the player who needs to deliver offense and he just hasn't done it. Is it skating? Is it the system? I can't answer that. He's been given opportunity but he hasn't delivered here in the preseason. That being said, he does have hands and we are a team in desperate need of players who have size who can score. I would have loved to see Pyatt removed from this team to make way for McLean. McLean needed to do more though to steal that spot. Frustrating.

I can see either Chipchura or Nokelainen as Winnik replacements. I'm just not sure we need both. Not with both Pyatt and Torres both making the team.

Perhaps the idea is to have Hanzal take a job as a scoring center.

Korpikoski, Langkow, Doan, Whitney, Hanzal, and Vrbata is the top six.

Pyatt, Gordon, Torres, Nokelainen, Chipchura, and POS/Bissonnette is bottom six.

Ugly.

Trying to figure out where Boedker might fit into that picture just makes it worse.

I get the logic. They can't win on talent, so they implement a strategy that makes other teams feel like they're playing against a brick wall. But Jesus what an ugly wall.

Boedker has talent and is good on both sides of the ice now. He's a typical Tippett forward, IMO. He will see top 6 minutes. Somebody's got to be able to score. I would hate to rely on power plays and own goals.

If you're going to the game tonight, make sure you know about the construction going on this weekend.

Smith gives up 2 goals in the 1st. We play catch up the rest of the way.
