NHL 12: your thoughts?

Haven't played it yet, but I've been watching for a while. Goalies can fight!!! Handling seems to be much better in this game too.

Wow, Anaheims offense is ranked 78, but St.Louis is 92?

All I have to say is that when I started my Calgary Be a GM and Langkow's Picture was replaced with Kotalik, and Meyer's picture was replaced with Langkow's.

I immediately took the disk out and put it away, to avoid full rage mode.

Good game though, the gameplay is solid feels very realistic.

I only buy 1 EASports game a year (to avoid losing $200 on more games than I have time enough to play), and I think I'm going with FIFA 12. Maybe next year.

First NHL game since 2007 and it's a little sad to see the trading scheme is just as bad as it ever was.

For example:
R. Ivanans, T. Kostopoulos and M. Stajan gets G. Landeskog, G. Mauldin, and D. Koci.

D. Langkow, K. Seabrook, 3rd and S. Staios for B.Schenn, J. Shelley, and I. Laperriere.

It's still lots of fun however.

Wouldn't/couldn't that get fixed with an update?

Game plays the best its been since 06. I still wish they'd get rid of the new passing system where you have to hold the button down for a hard pass. Makes tic-tac-toe passes impossible.

As long as you hit/hold the pass button before the puck hits the second player's stick you should get a touch pass off that'll be pretty fast.

Usually I play a lot of it but this year I bought it, brought it home, played it for an hour and haven't played since. Looks like a waste of my money.

I think I like it the best of them all so far. But the prospect system is terrible in it. The value got better because I was offered decent deals like Chara + 3rd for Toews. But it still needs work...

Last year I traded Langkow, Toskala, and Stajan for Datsyuk and Zetterberg. And I didn't even propose the trade, Detroit did.

One thing I hate is when I offer a player and they say "We are not looking for a veteran player." Then I offer a young guy and they say they don't need them either. Then I offer a mid-aged guy and they say "We are not looking for mid-aged players." And when I make a decent trade the other GM always say that they robbed me

I wish someone from EA would watch a game and/or read a box score once in a while and realize that you don't get a minor penalty for "checking from behind"

I remember when I used to simulate, I found the shots were really low, but high scores. Does it still do that?

Not really. Most games are 25ish to 40ish shots for each team, goals are pretty realistic too, 2-1, 4-2. Stuff like that plus the odd 6-1 game.

Pretty realistic player stats this year.

I've gotten a misconduct for checking from behind. I've never seen anything else called for it.

I like the gameplay by far the best out of all games in recent memory. I'm not a huge fan of the battle in front of the net. You can get stuck doing it, when all you really wanted to do was skate across the crease. Sure it has it's part, but its too encompassing at this point.

That and injuries are retardedly high in Be a GM. Even if you turn them off completely, your starting goalie still gets hurt for an average of 5 weeks a season.

The only complaint I have is how easy it is to delete your HUT. I had a full NHL roster, and now im back to the starter pack european leaguers and crappy CHL players

The gameplay is easy to get into. Just galvanizes. I only hope that next year I can sim past 25 years of be a gm it's very addicting and on my first run have gotten 4 cups with the Devils and 2 with the Avalanche (playing a couple weeks). The trading system is still pretty whack though.

Bump lol.

Did anyone else notice that Backlund's salary somehow got bumped to 7.25 million in the last roster update? Takes forever to fix too when it will only scroll downwards by increments of .005.

Just played a game where the PP went to 0 seconds and the guy would never come back on. Too bad I couldn't score I was on the PP when it was out of time for like 5 minutes

Pbp is full of all kinds of fail lol, my team was 9-0-1 in their last 10th and right off the bat "Calgary has played terrible as of late". Also the injuries! Holy ****. I had to turn them off, especially considering it never tells you when a player is injured while simming, on my jets file Freddy Meyer played 48 games as my first line LW (computer put him in and I didnt notice as I simmed the whole season.)

if you turn of the assistant coach edits lines when you start your be a gm it would fix that because it will ask you to edit lines when players get injured and return for injury.
