Congrats on getting an AHL team, hope it works out well. Seems like a cool logo.

Weird. I thought Dallas wanted Houston to be their AHL affiliate. So what happens with them now? I figured Minny was dropping them for an AHL team in Des Moines or somewhere else. Can someone who knows the AHL well help me out?

Minnesota bought controlling interest in the Aeros from Chuck Watson, so Dallas was never going to be the primary affiliate there, Hercules, because they had been in Utah UNTIL Phoenix left Springfield and Tampa Bay returned to the Falcons.

Minnesota also didn't win the contract to manage Wells Fargo that went to Global Spectrum, so when that was announced basically that and then the subsequent scenario above ended all hopes of the Aeros franchise moving there, and the acquisition of the old Louisville franchise that was in suspension since their application to suspend back in 2001 due to mismanagement that left the Fla Panthers hooking up with the team in San Antonio.
