Most people don't know the real story about the Dragon of Long Island. In the 1700's a Revolutionary War soldier encountered a dragonlike creature in what was later to become Uniondale. The Dragonlike creature had claws that resembled hockey sticks. The natives called this creature Sparkius. Thus the reason for the Islanders mascot.
I know he originally came with the Arena Ball Dragons, but I think Sparky is somehow appropriate. I figure he's a Sea Dragon, defending the Island, or something like that. But I'm more concerned with the Coliseum Issue, the Defense issue, and the Goaltending issue.
