Game seems to be back on NHL Network, with sound, just a few seconds behind washcaps feed

Meanwhile, the NHL Network feed is now up and running with video AND audio! It's a Christmas miracle!

Caps made a mistake calling up Purretu so early. He'll have nothing left for the regular season until they send him back down.

Nice move by Greenie to keep that play alive, and purrutu to clean it up. He doesn't get any bonus points for the goal, but he looked nice coming up the ice with the puck. Def good for quick offense if we lose a top 2 center or need some speed.

First shift I've seen in preseason... Not bad.

I think it's actually looked pretty good this preseason. That one was pretty horrid, though.

I don't even know why I'm watching. When the regular season results don't matter, the preseason results matter even less. Being good has taken all the fun out of the first 6 months of the season.

Nice snipe but that all started with Ward's initial stick work which kept the puck in the zone. Nice setup from Ward, too.

Ward is making small simple and effective passes. Reminds me of Brendan Morrison in that.

thats right. nothing matters til mid may unless they lose. if they win less than pretty/dominating, its as bad as an actual L. if they win in domination, it doesnt matter because its only the regular season.

we already know this team will finish first with one arm tied behind their back. they dont even need to try to get that 1 seed.

I'll settle for Ovi keeping the puck on his stick at this point. It's getting weird.
