I agree with you...he is NOT competing for a 4th line spot. I never said that anywhere. however, I do recall 4th line duty on many occasions last year for Omark - even if he didn't like it, and even if it meant playing with goons (Big Mac was his linemate for at least a few games)..so i know it is in Renney to do it. once all the injuries are cleared up, the dynamic changes considerably, and, as such, so does my assessment of how the lines would be formed.
I am not 100% sure on the waiver rules for Omark's situation...but assuming he has to pass through, sending Omark down would run a very high chance of him being picked up by someone else and losing him for nothing. After his shootout performances last year, I am sure there are a few teams that would be willing to take on his entry level contract terms. So when/if he doesn't fit in the top 9, and no trade is currently available for him, I am very sure that Renney will either have him on the 4th line or in the pressbox rather than send him through waiversDespite what you might think, I 'has' a clue, it just might not be what you agree with
