BFD. Part of having organizational depth is that even the players you can't find room for on your squad can still find a place in the league. Thank you Sather for sparing us all the humiliation of watching this kid get Aaron Vorosed on a nightly basis. The guy fought like Ray Charles. Keep it movin', enjoy Vancover and keep your gloves on. Really, keep them on.

Not a big deal. Depth really is defined by moments like this. Good luck Dale. Wishing you well.

The organization gambled and lost. Good luck to Weise!

Judging by the reaction of some, you'd think we just traded Stepan, Staal and Lundqvist for a 7th round pick.

Stop getting so attached to 4th liners for crying out loud. They're replaceable.

No it's not...what does being "homegrown" have to do with caliber? Yes, it's nice to have your key players developed through the organization, but are you telling me that if this team acquired Alex Ovechkin, that he'd be considered any worse of a player than he is now simply because he was acquired outwardly as opposed to internally?

Well that happens when (2) of those players really aren't 4th liners (Boyle and Prust).

Prust (29 points)

Boyle (35 points)

Gotta say, I'm not terribly encouraged by reading all your opinions on this guy. I do remember the Gatorade moment, though. Kinda reminds me of when I heard about getting Ballard and the first link was his decapitation of Vokoun. Maybe Gillis is assembling the blooper-reel all stars. *shrug*

No idea why the Canucks picked him up or why we would waive Oreskovich to make room for him so far.

I just realized that Vancouver claiming Weise means that he would have been one team away from clearing if Vancouver didn't claim him.

Best of luck to weise. He deserves to be in the NHL. Just no room here for him.

Is this tweet meaning that Weise has bean told to get an basement in Vancouver?
"@Daleweise32
Dale weise What a day in the national league.....life is good........#basementgmswish #jealousywontgetyouanywhere"

If so,I`m really happy for him. Legit NHL players should not be burried in the minors for depth.

I don't understand that at all either.

I guess 2 goals and 2 assists gets you the basement apartment? Im not sure.

I get the feeling we're not actually talking about Weise here.

In any case, he has his own team and his own career. Anything relating to him is perfectly fine in the around the NHL thread.
