Not only Connolly. Thompson too I guess. One of the more ridiculous posts posts I have seen by Boltsth.

I just think Shannon should not be on the team. Connolly and Text Book do make us better and will be happy when they return.

Somehow we missed this, but Marty's wearing a visor for the rest of his career.

Quote:
"I've been told all the time to wear a visor, and until something bad happens, it really wakes you up," he said. "Sometimes you're a prisoner of your own habits, and I've never worn one so it became my worst enemy in that regard, almost convincing yourself that you can't wear one. When something bad happens, it just kind of activates the process of putting one on."

I dont think its outlandish to think we're a bit better without them right now. Connolly is still struggling with consistency and defense and JT Wyman, while not the best offensively, plays a strong, honest game that this team needs. Play the body, control the puck, make smart plays and reduce risk.

I like Wyman, hope he doesn't get sent down. Blair Jones has disappeared again.

So frustrating. Wyman is what Jones should be. Just keep your foot on the ****ing gas kid.

Malone out Thursday, uncertain for this weekend (...)

Malone, who ran into C Nate Thompson late in Monday's practice, suffered an undisclosed lower body injury that not only kept him out Tuesday, it'll also lead him to miss Thursday's game in Ottawa and potentially Saturday's game in Montreal. Malone was upset enough after the injury that he slammed his stick against the boards. (...)

Malone didn't have his legs or ankles wrapped at all while walking around this morning between meetings, and said he hasn't undergone an MRI, doesn't know if he will. He said he plans to try to skate Thursday and go from there.
Quote:
Lightning coach Guy Boucher said this morning that, besides Malone, there's another forward who could possibly miss Thursday's game due to illness, but he wouldn't specify who. If that happens, then D Evan Oberg will make his Tampa Bay debut.

Also don't remember this being mentioned, Ryan Shannon is listed on the game notes as being placed on IR. #TBLightning
This might just be to make room for Connolly when he returns after tonight.

And now Wyman and Hall are hurt. It doesn't look like Malone will play Saturday either, so I'd expect a callup to be made. This organization seems to be against icing a tough team, but I wouldn't mind seeing Labrie up here, especially in Hall's absence.

Isn't Labrie hurt? Or is he back? Hard to keep up with all the injury stuff.

We're at the roster limit so we can't make a callup unless we move someone to IR like we did yesterday with Shannon. If Hall and Wyman can't go, Connolly and Oberg can still play. It would probably we wise to move Hedman to IR and make a callup anyway just in case.

Official injury report: Hall out indefinitely (upper body). Wyman day-to-day (upper body). Malone skated at the Bell Centre today.
****, did Hall get concussed from a punch? At least we'll have Connolly back, but I'm starting to get kind of nervous about throwing him into the meat grinder that is the Lightning lineup.

Do we need a tough team vs Montreal?

MAB is not practicing. Let's hope he's just taking a day off for maintenance.

PP units at practice:
#1: Stamkos - Downie - Lecavalier - Clark - St. Louis
#2: Connolly - Moore - Purcell - Kubina - Malone

It is a bad sign when MAB is missed from your defense

We're supposed to get a report today from Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman on the status of injured right wing Adam Hall. It is not expected to be good. ... But let's start with Hall since we apparently will get some new information about him, though the player indicated today that he has some sort of muscle issue in an arm as a result of his Jan. 5 fight with Ottawa's Matt Carkner.
Quote:
Hedman skated today for the first time since sustaining a concussion Dec. 27 against he Flyers. The defenseman skated with Shannon and Wyman. Hedman did not wear equipment and really didn't do anything physical other than pass the puck around. Hedman said he still is feeling the concussion symptoms.
Quote:
Shannon (lower-body) skated for the second straight day.
Quote:
Wyman (right pinkie) skated for the first time. Wyman said he basically has a gash on the finger. "We're waiting for the skin to come together," he said. In the meantime he said he is on antibiotics to fight any infection.
Quote:
Ohlund said he is still rehabbing his balky knees and that it is going "slowly, obviously." Ohlund, who has not played a regular-season game, still isn't skating and has no timetable to do so. He said he still hopes to play this season. "Nobody has said I can't play again this season," he said. "I'm taking it one game at a time and not looking too far ahead."

Tampa Bay Lightning RW Adam Hall could be sidelined for up to two months with a torn muscle in his forearm, general manager Steve Yzerman said Tuesday.

Marty still has blurry vision in his left eye:

Quote:
But coach Guy Boucher said St. Louis still has blurry vision in his left eye, which filled with blood when hit by the puck. Boucher also indicated the condition might be permanent. (...)

St. Louis declined to comment on his eye or that he is wearing a visor for the first time in his NHL career. But head athletic trainer Tommy Mulligan cautioned it is too early to say if St. Louis' blurred vision is permanent.
Quote:
W Ryan Shannon (knee) said he would like to resume playing before the Jan. 25-29 All-Star break.

RW J.T. Wyman (pinky) saw a doctor Thursday and said his recovery will take "a little longer."
