We had a chance to pick Matt Walker off waivers 2 days ago but passed.
Walker is not to be mistaken for Pronger, but he cleared waivers just as Holmgren wanted, and now he is in the starting rotation and will be paired with Coburn.
He is big, hard hitting, tough and will fill the spot of Sean O'Donnell. A #6 defenseman on that blue line surely could have been an upgrade for us over Motteau or Eaton. Marginal call but it would have been an improvement that was missed.

Not a single player here would ever play above Eaton on any team. Eaton played 20+ hard minutes for the Pens. The Penguins do not feed Komisarek, Walker, ect. those kind of minutes.

Being aphysical d-men does not equal being a good d-men. Majoity of physical stay at homers suck balls anyway cause they are slow, can't pass, and become black holes that put extra pressure on every other player on the ice because of their mobility liabilities. Islanders have enough slow physical dudes. Staios and Jurcina fills that quotient.
