Lol. Three Jack Adams votes for Boudreau. None for the coach that just swept him.

To be fair one of the votes is from the Mullet. And I'm surprised Cohn doesn't have a Ranger winning every award with the team winning the Cup.

The guy coaching the team with players that say "I have no answer, its like they can score at will" just screams Jack Adams winner to me.

It's not like ESPN even watches hockey.....I'm surprised they didn't pick the California Golden Seals to win the west....followed by the Kansas City Scouts, Colorado Rockies, Atlanta Flames, Hartford Whalers....

I don't see how Boudreau could win the Adams for another reason. If Washington finishes 1st overall, so what. Why would you vote for him. Been there, done that. Washington is supposed to win and if Boudreau had been fired and a new coach came to DC, they'd still be expected to win. Boudreau or any other person taking the job can only prove themselves in the playoffs. But the writers vote before the playoffs. It's just crazy.

They gave the Adams to Dan Bylsma last year, so maybe they're banking on a change in how the writers perceive the Jack Adams Award.

I feel the same way. I'd rather whip ass in the playoffs than be the regular season champions who fall apart when it counts year after year.

If we win the division, terrific. If not, a playoff spot is still perfectly fine with me. Seedings don't mean **** unless you get home ice. And even with that, home ice only benefits you if you make it to your advantage.

I'm in the minority but I think home ice is ******** too. All about preparation, emotional and physical. Never too high, never too low.

So you're saying they expect Ovechkin and Backstrom to miss lots of time and the Caps finish in the top 4 anyway?

ESPN is a four letter word. I wonder what their picks were last season

It's always better to sneak up on them when they least expect it... and then POUNCE. Just ask the Caps. Long season and we're just finding our legs. See you Monday.
