I think with Jobs it wasn't even so much the technology itself, but rather the marketing of technology to the point where he could justify taking the bigger risks.
Yeah, Jobs was not a technological innovator. He was a marketing genius, however.

Jobs' best ability, IMHO, was to see technological innovations and determine how they will best functionaly fit into the world around us.
He didn't invent the MP3 player, or walkman... but the iPod works better, is more stylish, and provides more functionality and features than those devices ever dreamed.
Heck, I knew in 2000 (working for Morgan Stanley) when Palm went public, I told clients that their main competition was nokia and whoever could integrate their device with the others while adding internet and texting would win.... but who knew it would be Apple? That device is so smooth and intuitive that my 2 year old can run it... and my one year old is messing with it now.
And people laughed at the iPad. Apple wasn't first. But they integrated timing and technology into a device that acutally works. Many poo poo'd it. Yet here were are.
AppleTV... such a joke for a decade. Now people want smart, integrated media. Not segragated music, Tv, internet, and DVDs.
In the essence of taking current ideas, integrating them, and changing the world....
Looks like we are going to concentrate on the LA market for my site. Then probably scale it out to DC. Hopefully should have a working site, LLC, trademarks, and patent applications by the end of the year. When that's done, I'll let you guys know what my site will do as we roll it out in LA. Feedback from public would be appreaciated.
I'll check the T&C's for this site. Don't want to pimp it in the posts like "insiders" and "bloggers" do. I'll have to see if I can put it in the footer or in my description tag.
I've gotta wait until tomorrow AM to get the itunes download. I'm dying here. And this is the last time I will be clicking this thread until then.
I mean, Ive seen some good TV over the past few years. Walking Dead season premier from last year. The Suitcase episode of Mad Men. The finale of Sons Of Anarchy last season. The whole Trinity angle on Dexter.
Not talking about the quality of the CGI, but rather the choice to use it as it was. Felt like a bit of a gag in some ways. Still pretty amazing though.
Any episode where Walt is walking away from an explosion = awesome.
Season 1 when he blows up Tuco's office and now this.
Walt is too good. He looked like a blathering idiot for almost the whole season and now he's the last man standing with no more Gus, no more Mexicans and he's destroyed every shred of evidence the DEA might have to connect the dots to him -with the exception of Jesse and Skylar.
