Droid X. It can not track itself to save its life! Multiple times it was about 3 or 4 blocks off in a city and be about two or three miles off on the highway on its current location. Compared to Magellen GPS, it is just horid in that respect.
Also, I'd put money on Verizon forcing grandfathered unlimited data plans into the new ones with a 4g switch of some sort. We might get away with it for a bit but Verizon will get the extra money sometime.
Strange. Never had a problem with my X while I had it, I think after the update those phones had lots of issues... I really have not seen that problem. Right now I use the xoom, and bionic no issues with either so far. As for Verizon changing that I would find out maybe a month before the public does in most circumstances. As of now there are no major changes coming in that aspect. As long as you keep a smart phone on it stys unlimited, so that also means never swap an ESN unless its a smart phone or you lose it. If you ever do a manufacture warranty issue or file insurance, special instructions can be done through customer service ONLY, so you could keep your unlimited data package in case you had to use a basic phone for a few days, make sure they note your account. To be honest I'd keep a smart phone on to be safer than sorry no matter what.. but then again I've only used more than 2 GB once on my device. Not a huge issue for me..
I get what I want out of 3G when not on my wireless LAN.
Perhaps if I'm in an airport and wanted to watch video, that could be cool. But I haven't seen the big need for me to have a 4G speed. Though obviously faster is always better.

Exactly, and I tell my customers that, really how fast do you need to download a pic or check Facebook? Verizon's 3g is almost as fast as sprints 4g here where I live anyway. I don't really care about the 4G that much either for the most part, but if your out and trying to stream a redskins/caps game or something its much better for streaming with no buffering.. I think the 4G is more beneficial on Air cards/Mifis at the moment. Here in the future the 4g phones will be doing things 3g phones won't so it will be more beneficial.

What version of Android do you have on that X? I'd advise just rooting it and getting cyanogen mod on it. Might want to swing your provider store to see if they can verify it isn't a hardware issue.
For the Android peeps here looks like Ice Cream Sandwich will be unveiled in Hong Kong tomorrow night (10pm EST) along with Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Prime) which will be the first handset to be released with it.

I feel the same way. There's also a LOT of marketing fluff in 4g.
I would love for someone to make an app that tracked your upload/download speeds all of the time. You 4g believers would likely be shocked at how rarely you get speeds you believed you would get when you saw the shiny brochure.

If it was the iPhone that was 4g and Droid phones were the ones six months behind the curve at launch, I'm pretty sure you'd all be singing a different tune. It's the cult of Apple, which is more to my point of Jobs being a marketing, and not a technological pioneer.

The "4G" itself is marketing fluff, more or less. Real 4G is supposed to be much more advanced than any of the standards out there today (LTE, WiMAX, etc.). What's out there is better than 3G, no doubt, but it's far from actual 4G.
Still, it's nice to have when it's available for basically anything to do with videos. That, and for some reason my 3G doesn't work some places where LTE does.
Regarding LTE I think for those that like to use it as a mobile hotspot is really where it at. Personally planning on picking up a laptop early next year so this will be what I do.
When VZ starts rolling out VoLTE it will be more attractive though it seems like VZ is concentrating on deployment these days.

The only thing I would like is the slightly bigger screen, but it's not a big deal to me. That's a nice to have, not a need, and I don't want a larger device in my pocket anyway so it's a double-edged sword. Apple does now have the best camera out there for hand devices. That's nice, but as with any hardware advantage....marginal IMO.
It's not like there are tons of hardware manufacturers for Apple like there are for Droids, all fighting each other to sell phones. There's competition there among those Driod manufacturers. All they have to differentiate themselves against any of the driod phones is the hardware specs. They will continue to do marginal upgrades, just like Apple to sell devices.
While other phones feature an 8-megapixel camera, for instance, in his review of the iPhone 4S, PCMag lead analyst Sascha Segan noted the device is "sharper than any cameraphone in the U.S., with 2000 lines of resolution on our chart." Of the Droid Bionic, on the other hand, Segan said, "I was disappointed by the Droid Bionic's 8-megapixel still camera, which has a very slow autofocus—up to 2 seconds."
The only device I think stands out against the Iphone is the Galaxy S2. Very cool device. Was just playing with a buddies who replaced his iphone but is still a very heavy Apple user.
The funny thing about the Apple haters/Droid lovers, unless you're willing to blow a lot of cash every year (to upgrade before you're eligible for the standard discount) to get the latest greatest Droid, you're probably lagging behind anyway. So really, what's the advantage, a hypothetical one?
Picture quality for a camera phone for me is just way down the list. Also from the usage standpoint what I'm taking pictures are just random non-serious of funny things.
Definitely think iPhone does have best quality pics just based on my best friend's iphone (3Gs). But his wife is always carrying around her high end nikkon anyways, heh.

Having a kid now....the iphone is what my wife uses for 90% of our pics and video. Way more convenient than a cumbersome larger camera.
