ALL Waiver Wire Discussion

Do the Isles play the waiver wire route again? 22 year old Brett McLean was sent down. I could see the Isles making a move for him. Supposedly he played well with Tavares in 2007 in the OHL. Lets see what happens.

Now this is a guy I'd consider putting a claim in for. What do we have to lose?

Speaking of, does anybody know if he'll be back or where he is? I always enjoyed his posts.

He is only 22, supposedly has tons of potential and is a point a game player in the AHL. The question is, who gets bumped off of the current roster. From what it sounds like, his defensive game is not the best but the Isles could definitely use his offense.

Wish we didn't lock up Pandolfo yet though...cuz I'd consider taking him if there was room.

MacLean was claimed by the Jets. Not surprised we didn't pick him, we just don't have the room unless we waived Parenteau.

Nystrom won't be claimed by us either, although I would love to see him here.

That would be a pretty sick 4th line if we claim Nystrom, Nystrom-Reasoner-Pando.

Then we send Strome down.

Not too keen on picking him up but he is a Nystrom... I say **** it, pick him up.

I'm all for picking him up, having a 4th line with Reasoner and any two of Martin/Nystrom/Pandolfo would be really nice. Hell move Martin up on to the 3rd line wing and that would be perfect.

Not Sure of how to re-arrange the lines but I would love if they pick up Nystrom. Hes a great team player that plays a good game.

Honestly, sending Martin down to Bridgeport if we claim Nystrom wouldn't be too bad. Martin can get 1st line minutes and score on a team that needs some in the AHL.

Nystrom has a great last name.

But he'd have as much impact on the Islanders as Ryan Sittler, Brett Lindros, Robert Nilsson, Colton Orr.
Having a great last name doesn't make you great.

Nystrom is no different than Colliton or Marcinko in terms of what he brings.

SIDE NOTE: Jesse Joensuu off to a GREAT start in the SEL. Who would have thought?!

I wish we did claim MacLean, there would definitely been a buyer for Comeau or Parenteau which could have brought in a decent dman, and then claim Nystrom. We could easily upgraded the team if we added a dman, MacLean, and Nystrom, for the price of P.A. or Blake.

So is Jason Krog, so it does not mean much at all.

Good, I believe we still own his rights so maybe he can get another shot. To me, he just needs some man strength and a little coordination.

Maclean can't even hold Comeau's or PA's jock. We've had MacLean before on this team. He also goes by the name of Jeff Tambellini and Andy HIlbert

Fair enough. He's not Mattias Weinhandl after all

I can't believe Krog's already 35 years old...he's 12 years older than JJ - he still looks like a kid and in my head, I think of him as a "prospect" still. Pretty pathetic on my part I suppose.
