How about a 3 stars of the game ranking? add them up all the way and at the end of the season you get the player or the star of the year or something. it may not have as high a value as the, Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy but im sure someone would enjoy winning it
We could try the 'Sean Avery award' for each game, where we vote for the player who caught our eye the most without actually having an impact on the game....................

Good idea. I might go 3 Stars instead of Player of the Game, and allow multiple votes in poll.
How about the Sean Avery Offsides Award, given to the player who was offsides most in the game that night.
Possibly change the Redden to the Drury as it should be the worst player on our roster from last season.
Joe Michelette's Quick Release Award given to the player who is given that compliment the most that night (not only by Joe), possibly have a season-ending award (Most likely Gabrorik, hoping it's Anisimov)
Henke's Mr Softee Goal of the Night. People seem to claim he gives up a lot of weak goals, we should be able to say if we thought one was weak or not in our posts, tally up the yes's and no's (on a specific goal designated in the PGT) and see how many we believe are weak goals. Sadly, Biron will not be included in this poll.
Shootmaster 3000: Given to the player who takes the most shots in the game. I don't know if they tally player attempted shots, but that should be the number used to determine the winner.
Own goal tracker: I know it hasn't happened much, but we should count the goals that go off our own players, and which player it happened too. Call it the Darius Kasperaitis Off Da Skate award (or any other former Rangers defender)
Maybe a better one for Kasper would be the "Nobody Bumps into our Goalie" Darius Kasperaitis Award, for the best player at protecting Hank and Marty in every game. For those who don't know or rememer:
I say we wait a few games before introducing a new trophy- The Frolov one was special because even after he went down it was still a funny quirk to the season. Let's see if one establishes itself soon.

I agree with this. Whatever award needs to be given will reveal itself after a few games.
As far as 3 Stars, I think you should stick with 1 vote per person and just take the 3 players with the most votes. There are enough of us that there will be plenty of votes to go around. Otherwise there would just be too many votes for the same players and it would be harder to distinguish the first star from the second, etc.

I think it would be cool to have a Keyboard Coach thread or somethin like that, where after the game each poster tries to play coach and say what they would've done differently in the game and why etc.

yeah. this works better.
but i can see times when only one player played well (usually Hank) and he gets 99% of the vote. The other 1% usually would go to Zucc because the Norwegians vote for him.
I know that I don't want to see Rangers struggling, getting use to each other for the first half of the season by winning 25% of their games and missing playoffs by 3 points.
The 3 star idea sounds excellent. 3 votes for each user, who should show some respect and not abuse it.

The Darius Kasparaitis "Nobody bumps our goalie" award sounds like an excellent change for the Frolov memorial award. How about giving it to the player who showed the most character?
Otherwise, the Sean Avery Offside Award sounds like a great concept, if the award should keep its statistical merit and not be a matter of opinion.
