Random thoughts:
Oddly, I thought Auger was doing an ok job this year, before he took that hi-stick to the chops. But I think he'd dug himself such a hole he was already a goner.

I thought I read a couple years ago that VanM was ready to retire, but he's stuck around. As Easy said perhaps a sign that they are having real trouble bringing up newer refs.


Kowal's been around 7+ years? I swear he looks likes he's only 16...

And who would have predicted that Chris Rooney probably was the best ref overall in this year's playoffs?

Not surprised about Rooney. I picked up on Rooney long ago. He finally got recognition despite his nationality. I have seen many "perfect" games by Rooney over the years.

Kowal is a lot older than he looks. He probably should get the nice guy award for refs every year. Doesn't do much for him when he has to bring the hammer in his job.
