Pre-season Prediction (bold or otherwise)

I was one of the first people last season to say Brian Boyle will score 8 goals this year.Last year was a fluke,ect...What a big waste of a big man physically..Well,im willing to look past his short comings.I was pretty impressed by his camp and im thinking 20 goals will be a lock for this guy..I will always root for my Sweater even if I can't stand a certain player..He seems like a decent locker room guy and heres hoping he has a monster year..

MZA I was never in love with. All the hype before he got here I needed to form my own op..I didn't give him much of a chance but during last year I was wanting more ice time for MZA..He's a fearless little player with skill..I think he's a lock for 20-20 on the third line.Plus his PS skills are crazy..He gets his nose dirty and plays w/passion..Looking foward to seeing what this kid can accomplish this year.

Let's not forget Boyle was invisible down the stretch and compiled the majority of his stats the first half of the season.

It helps him that Torts loves him and he'll be on the ice a whole bunch, so I would not be surprised with another 20 goal season.

Let's just hope that this year he actually provides some in meaningful spots.

Boyle has been great. Torts didnt even think he would make the team last season. To Torts credit he was honest about that after Boyle proved him wrong. To Torts credit he kept an open mind and when Boyle worked on his skating and played well he earned a solid amount of playing time under Torts. I'm really impressed with Boyle. I expect 15-25 goals from the big guy.

Trust me,im not forgetting how he disappeared..LOL...Im just saying between games 1 and 82 he will finish with 20..Another year older could do wonders for this guy.

That's true, but I read an interview with him(can't remember where it was from) where he said he ran out of gas last year because he never played that much. He also said he trained differently this summer to make sure it didn't happen again.

I love what Boyle brings to the table and the fact that he appears to be a real team leader and someone who takes the younger guys under his wing.

All I want is a little more consistency this year.

Guy should've scored 30 goals with the pace he was on last year. He just needs to be consistent even if his production doesn't get that high.

He was far from invisible in the 2nd half. He played a hard style and his line had great shifts, on top of his great PK work and his shut-down defense. He just wasn't compiling as many points

Will you eat crow on your eating crow if Boyle only scores 10 goals this year?

I think you jumped the gun on this...

Wait what? Things other than points matter now when we're not talking about Avery?

Let's be honest, the guys play significantly dropped off after his hot start. There's no reason to think that he can't put up those numbers again. It's just my opinion that I would much prefer more consistency over the course of an 82 game season.

I think that he'll have his chances too because he's going to get a ton of ice time, and Torts seems to like him in front of the net on the PP.

Honestly I still think it was a fluke. Hopefully I'm wrong, though.

I don't think Boyle will definitely score 20, but i'll be happy with 30 points, his leadership, his PKing and his new found physical play. He's not the same scrub he was 2 years ago, he's an important cog of our bottom 6 who may or may not provide a good presence in our top 6 if needed. He also plays like he's a big boy now.

Bold Predictions Thread!

It's time!

Less than 48 hours until the season begins!

Post ONE bold claim about the Rangers this year.

Here's mine:

Brandon Dubinsky will score more than 70 points, while splitting time between the first and second line.

Rangers get 50 wins. 44 last year, it's possible.

Dubi pots 30.

Cally scores 25 with 50+ points again, but nothing more.

MDZ secures a spot on the blue line for the entire season.

Staal plays less than 50 games.

Richards "struggles" in his first season as a Ranger and only scores 70 points.

Sauer and McDonagh further solidify themselves as studs.

This team outperforms previous ones in the regular season and still lays an egg in the post season.

Marc Staal is out for the first half of the season with PCS. During the all-star break, his mother kicks Eric's ass for cheapshotting and injuring his younger brother. Gaborik plays a total of 52 games with groin and other injuries. Rangers finish 4th in the conference, second to Philadelphia in the division.

Pretty sure if Staal misses half the season this team is not finishing fourth in the East.

That would be crazy if those two things happened.
