Message to the media!

This just in, LAST YEAR DIDN'T SUCK. It wasn't a disappointment. It was great watching them win as much as they did and get further in the playoffs than the previous several attempts. Second Art Ross in a row? President's trophy? There's got to be all kinds of other Canuck milestones and successes from last year that you could dwell on without looking at that one game.

It would be like going up to Lemieux and asking, "Do you ever regret not trying a bit harder to reach 200 points?" Like give your head a shake.

So to TSN and CBC, you make for bad coverage.

ESPN Sportsnet West guys, you set the example for good Canuck games and coverage. Keep it up.

Last year absolutely sucked and was a massive disappointment.

Art Ross? Good for him. Not a new thing, and his lousy playoffs overshadowed it.
Selke? Good for him. He earned it for sure. His lousy playoffs overshadowed it.
Presidents Trophy? Good for them. Spoiled it by imploding in the finals.

the debate is simple

personal gratification vs winning the big cup

at the end of the day you can win all the personal acolades in the world--but when you are part of a team sport it is about winning the final

In the NFL how many times have we heard about the great QB with great stats---but since he never won the super bowl---was he that good(you do know who I am talking about right)

I wouldn't say lousy.

Inconsistent? Definitely.

He really only showed up against Nashville, injury or no injury.

I agree, I say lousy. showing up for 1 of 4 series is terrible.

I suppose he should get some credit for Chicago, but even then he was doing nothing offensively.

Last year was honestly the worst I've ever experienced.

It would have been easier to swallow if Chicago had won game 7

You judging hockey players by how many point they put up is like me judging you by how many figures are in your salary.

it doesn't tell the complete story.

Why do you even post here or watch any games if you apparently hate the team so much?

We don't need self loathing, team hating "fans".

Last year was great until the end. I was pissed and depressed for a couple months, then I realized life goes on, we will have another chance at the Cup, and this is a fantastic team

Okay i got it figured out ... we would be happier by the Nuckers having not made it to the SCF, even happier if they had lost to Nash, giddy if they had lost to Chi and on top of the world if they had missed the playoffs.

The only important thing is getting the highest possible draft pick.

Have I got this thread figured out or what!!!

You need to learn to appreciate the kind of team we have. We could be the Florida Panthers for christs sakes.

You sound just as bad as the people throughout the upper bowl tonight who are waiting for any chance to jump on our players and throw them under the bus. Either support the team and criticize appropriately, or don't be so pessimistic & ***** about every player on the team - it get's annoying for everyone (not just you, general sweeping statement).

I can't believe the next four words I'm going to say: Craig Simpson was right! Last season was the storybook year that didn't have the perfect ending.

It doesn't mean we shouldn't be proud of what they did.

To me it's like saying you retroactively hate the Sopranos because you hated the way it ended. No, you enjoyed the run but the final part sucked.

I thought the ending of Sopranos was good. Just didnt like how they left (SPOILER!) Silvio in a coma!

So we should appreciate having a team of chokers because they might just lose earlier?

Sorry, but no. They completely blew it last year and the only way they can make up for it is to win. I don't think they will. Until they do then they are still just losers.

Marino was that good. Amazing quarterback. Team game as is hockey. Unless you have everything going, you can't win.

Neither did Toews but he is a Hart candidate this year...

Sigh I hear what you are saying, but I would like to respectfully suggest that you've said it enough that no one cares to hear it anymore. You sound like Jeff Patterson in all honesty.

I will say this... I would rather have this canucks team, then what they have in Calgary, and even Edmonton because there is no guarantee they can keep all their offensive picks by the time they become a legit scoring team. Adn who's in net for them? Who's on D?

No I will take this Canucks team and the last 3 years over anything else cause they consistently had some good opportunities, and have another one this year.

Injuries will determine every teams fate.

Have you posted one positive thing about the team... ever? I swear, we could win the cup and you'd whine about how they held it up. Go watch the Bruins and feed your bandwagoning.
