Don't know how much I agree with him here, but he does raise several decent points. Can't wait for their responses though.

What an idiot. I like physical hockey, but I don't want a bunch of brain dead players either. What good is a talent like Crosby when he can't think straight. Coaches Corner needs to be shut down. No one respects him they just tune in to see the outlandish **** this guy utters.

Cherry's a simple guy with a simple message. All he was saying is that it's hypocritical for fighters, who make a living at fighting, to then speak against fighters and blame fighting for any turmoil they have in their life.

I have no problem with Don Cherry, he's genuine and simple, he loves the game and has very specific beliefs about how HE FEELS the game should be played. You don't have to agree. He's an entertainer, not an expert at any level.

I have a bigger problem with the media jumping on this story and sensationalizing this even further. I heard Don Cherry's response on the fan590 today, he's being made out to be some slanderer which was not really his intent and I never took the Coach's Corner segment in that offensive way.

Sure, he shouldn't have named individuals and he probably made some mistakes in the details but to hang this guy out to dry is a bit spineless and opportunistic by the hockey media.

Don Cherry is an entertainer. No need to crucify the guy for being the exact same guy he's been for 30+ years on TV.

Not a Cherry fan but I am a fighting fan....

No one is forced to drop the gloves.....If you are going to allow hitting and dont want a bunch of dirty hits, players need to know that if they do somthing dirty they might get knocked out

Couldn't have said it better myself. Our liberal, highly left-wing media can't stand that he's, one, successful, and, two, that's he's on the mothership CBC.

I wish CBC would lose the NHL and then Cherry, Jim Hughson and Scott Oak can go to TSN. Their coverage would be outstanding then.

its not fighting that makes players braid dead its the shots to the head. so after almost 100 years of pro hockey now because of three unfortunate incidents fighting is bad?. i think fighting is becoming the scapegoat once again.
