Jonas Höglund to Davos, SUI replacing Lonny Bohonos.

It seems like Jonas Höglund will end up in HC Davos, Switzerland.

I couldn't read the article, but did Bohonos go over to Europe? I remember 2 or 3 years ago he came in and put up a point per game (though he played only about 15 games altogether) but I didn't hear from him since. I thought it was a bad move on the Leafs part to let him go.

Though not as bad as the Pens giving up Lalime.

He came to Davos in May 2000.

Bohonos went to the ZSC Lions (Tim Ramholt's ex team, Ari Sulander is there too). And Teemu08 is right, the Hoglund deal is confirmed now. He signed a contract for this one season.

I'm sure he will. He is closer to home, and I hear the Swiss league pays better than the AHL too.

Sure, he's not making a million dollar contract, but I'm sure he's well off enough to live a happy life.

Actually, it is not that far apart what he made last year in Toronto on a per game basis.

He'll make about US$400k net (flat, car, taxes paid by Davos), that's about US$ 6'000 per game in his pocket.

He made US$ 1,54mio in Toronto. Someone told me once you have to deduct about 50% taxes, i.e. about 800k net, that's about US$ 7'000 per game.

And you should not forget, the farest trip to an away game by bus takes you about 3 hours in switzerland and Davos is a very nice wintersports resort up in the Alps. I think he'll enjoy it!
